In the fading light of the day, a Red-capped Plover caught my eye as it bathed in the shallow waters on the shoreline. After a refreshing soak, it took to the skies, vigorously shaking the remaining seawater from its feathers.

There appears to be an increase in the number of Black-capped Chickadees this season, and a decrease in the number of Carolina Chickadees, in this area.

An Acadian tradition lives on in one of the many smokehouses in Cap-Pelé New Brunswick, the smoked herring capital of the world.
A vivid floatplane cuts across the open sky above Alaska’s coastal wilderness, its bright fuselage contrasting against layered blues and deep evergreen forests. Snow-capped peaks rise beyond the fjord, partially veiled by low, drifting clouds that trace the contours of the mountains. The still, steel-blue water in the foreground anchors the scene, emphasizing the scale and isolation of the landscape.
The image captures a defining element of life in remote Alaska—aviation as a lifeline—set against a vast, untamed backdrop that conveys both serenity and rugged grandeur.

When the chickadee is your animal totem, it is symbolic of a cheerful nature, social behavior, courage, positivity, and flexibility. If you have a chickadee as your animal totem, then it means that you are surrounded by people who will love you. :-)
Whist trying to catch up with myself rather than not post anything thought I would continue with a few more images from Lyme
Taken from the town of Lyme Regis a view over to the Jurassic coastline looking towards the golden cap which is the highest point on the South coast.

Captain's cap.
According to legend the last Captain of HMAS Gladstone left his cap behind as a reminder of his service.
At the time HMAS Gladstone was gifted navy personnel removed all classified equipment and left the ship as it was at decommissioning.
Everything is still intact as if the crew were about to return to the ship and make ready to sail.
Today the former HMAS Gladstone aka Sad Rock is in wet dock at Gladstone and is operated as a tourist attraction by the Gladstone Maritime Museum.
