Eight years have gone so fast, she’s turning nine this year.
I just love the Canon 135mm f2 Lens. Amazingly fast.
Now, I love it more than my 85mm f1.8.
After a photoshoot, I hung around and watched the light fade. Every minute, the colors changed. It was very beautiful!
This shot was taken looking west at the East Texas Botanical Gardens Arboretum in Athens, TX.
On a frigid January morn, Environment Canada issued a warning re elevated levels of pollution trapped by the cold air. From my lair high above the city I could see pockets of dirty air forming along the river valley, including throughout the downtown region (the North Saskatchewan River runs along the south edge of the city centre).
At the same time a sundog formed, and while the low winter sun illuminated the downtown buildings with light diffused by the pollution, the low-lying foreground remained in deep shadow.
This produced a natural triptych of the sundogged sky, the hazy brightness of downtown, and the dark foreground. I exposed for the sundog, letting the other regions fall where they may.

first pseudo-studio shoot. He did great this time.
He did pee on me twice...but I guess he owed me that for hanging him several feet, just kidding (mom!) inches off of soft pillowy table/ground.
I've got to thank my father in law for holding up his brand new grandson in the air.
