This last weekend was the American Cancer Society Relay For Life In West Clark County, WA. It was an amazing event with a wonderful turnout.
As a cancer survivor this event touches me tremendously! Such a wonderful group of organizers, team captains and wonderful participants. We all agree, cancer sucks and we want to do what we can to help eliminate it from our world!

At the time this photo was taken, this 18 year old girl had just received word her cancer was completely gone. One of her caregivers was with her.

I wrote the poem remembering a time when I was in a dark, lonely place erupting with despair. Sharing this poem helped me to realize that we ALL have been to that same place, but because of our strength and the love of those around us, we ALL arrived on that day with nothing but gratitude in our hearts.
