No 20.augusta līdz 2.septembrim visā Latvijā notiek līdz šim lielākās militārās mācības “Namejs 2018”, uz kurām turpina ierasties sabiedroto spēku karavīri un militārā tehnika, līdz ar to uz valsts autoceļiem iespējami satiksmes kustības īslaicīgi apgrūtinājumi.
Turpinoties intensīvam militāro vingrinājumu un mācību posmam ne tikai Latvijā, bet arī citās Baltijas valstīs, Nacionālie bruņotie spēki atgādina, ka to laikā pa Latvijas autoceļiem pārvietojas gan Latvijas, gan sabiedroto bruņoto spēku militārā tehnika, bet gaisa telpā lido militārās lidmašīnas un helikopteri.
Bruņotie spēki atvainojas par sagādātajām neērtībām un lūdz ar izpratni izturēties pret iespējamajiem satiksmes kustības īslaicīgiem apgrūtinājumiem, kas var rasties sakarā ar pastiprinātu militārās tehnikas pārvietošanos pa autoceļiem.
Bruņotie spēki aicina iedzīvotājus būt saprotošiem un nekavēt karavīru un militārās tehnikas pārvietošanos. Militārās tehnikas kolonnas pavada Militārā policija, Valsts policija vai Pārvietošanas koordinācijas centrs. Tuvojoties militārās tehnikas kolonnai, bruņotie spēki aicina autovadītājus ievērot ceļu satiksmes noteikumus un netraucēt kolonnu kustību, piemēram, mēģinot to apdzīt.
Bruņotie spēki uzsver, ka Latvijas gaisa telpā militāro gaisa kuģu lidojumi notiek tikai normatīvajos aktos noteiktajā augstumā un ātrumā, līdz ar to radītais troksnis ir īslaicīgs un nenodara kaitējumu cilvēkam un īpašumam.
Iedzīvotāji tiek aicināti neuztraukties, redzot arī karavīru un zemessargu pārvietošanos ārpus militārajiem poligoniem un vienību izvietojumiem, tehnikas un cita veida aprīkojuma izvēršanu un pozīciju ieņemšanu dažādās Latvijas vietās.
Mācību laikā ārpus poligona tiks pielietota tikai mācību munīcija un imitācijas līdzekļi, kā arī notiks kaujas imitācija ārpus poligona iepriekš saskaņotās teritorijās. Mācību munīcija rada troksni, bet neapdraud cilvēku veselību un dzīvību. Tomēr vēršam uzmanību, ka arī mācību munīciju, ja tāda tiek atrasta, nedrīkst aiztikt. Teritorijas pēc tam tiks sakoptas.

Troops prepare for shipment back to Canada
Canadian Forces Traffic Technician, Master Corporal Patrick Vandal inspects the unaccompanied baggage of Private Marc-Daniel Benoit before it is sealed and placed in a shipping container for shipment back to Canada. Due to a limited amount of space on the flights back to Canada, soldiers pack all their unessential equipment in the UAB boxes before leaving Afghanistan.
Task Force Kandahar’s National Support Element provides all of logistical needs for the Canadian Forces mission in Afghanistan. This includes, but is not limited to, providing weapons, operational equipment and clothing to personnel arriving in the theatre of operations.
Operation ATHENA is Canada’s participation in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. The mission of Task Force Kandahar, the Canadian-led brigade in ISAF Regional Command (South), is to set the right conditions for sustainable progress in security, governance, development and peace in the districts of Panjwa'i, Dand and Daman in Kandahar Province, in conjunction with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Afghan national security forces, and other coalition and civilian partners.

Aizkavēšanas un aizsardzības operācijā, kas mācību “Namejs” laikā 27.augustā norisinājās Vecumnieku novadā, bija iesaistīta Sauszemes spēku Mehanizētā kājnieku brigāde, Zemessardzes 1.Rīgas brigāde un Kanādas vadītā daudznacionālā kaujas grupa. Nosacītais pretinieks – Čehijas un Polijas bruņoto spēku karavīri ar kaujas tehniku un atbalsta ieročiem.
Vecumniekos karavīri un zemessargi bija izvērsušies divos objektos un to aizstāvība bija vienību galvenais uzdevums. Uzbrukumu sākotnēji aizkavēja Mehanizētās kājnieku brigādes 1.mehanizētais kājnieku bataljons. Pēc tam objektu aizsardzību veic Studentu bataljona kaujas grupa kopā ar Kanādas vadīto daudznacionālo kaujas grupu.
Mācības apmeklēja, ar brigāžu komandieriem un plānotājiem tikās arī aizsardzības ministrs Raimonds Bergmanis un Nacionālo bruņoto spēku komandieris ģenerālleitnants Leonīds Kalniņš.

On August 27, 2018 Latvian Land Forces Mechanized Infantry brigade, National Guard 1st Riga brigade and Canadien led eFP battlegroup Latvia personnel conducted delay and defence operations in Vecumnieki region, Latvia during military exercise “Namejs 2018”. The opposing force was soldiers from Polish Armed Forces and Czech Armed Forces.

Youth Challenge Course at Red River Ex

The Red River Exhibition, an annual Op CONNECTION event, took place from 17 June to 26 June 2011 at Exhibition Park just West of the city of Winnipeg. Every year, the fair and assorted exhibitors receive approximately 200,000 visitors over ten days. The Army, Navy, Air Force and Reserves participated by setting up a free display for families and children including vehicles, a children's confidence course and weapon handling opportunities. Members of 38 Canadian Brigade Group were invaluable as the designers and managers of the children's confidence course, a huge hit, as well as the display stands of reserve units in Winnipeg.

La foire Red River est une activité annuelle, dans le cadre de l’opération Connection, qui a eu lieu du 17 au 26 juin 2011 au parc d’exposition situé à l’ouest de Winnipeg. Chaque année, quelque 200 000 personnes visitent la foire et ses différents exposants durant dix jours. L’Armée de terre, la Marine, la Force aérienne et la Réserve y ont participé en emménageant des installations gratuites à l’intention des familles et des enfants; avec une exposition de véhicules, un parcours de développement de la confiance des enfants et des possibilités de manier des armes. La contribution des militaires du 38e Groupe Brigade du Canada a été inestimable, car ils ont conçu et géré le parcours de développement de la confiance en soi des enfants qui a connu un franc succès ainsi que les kiosques des unités de la Réserve à Winnipeg.

The Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Canadian Regiment, Prince Philip, dropped into Toronto to present the 3rd Battalion with their Regimental Colours. A ceremonial flag that carries the battle honours of the Regiment. The old Colours had simply become too worn and damaged and needed replacement. The Battalion, normally garrisoned near Pembroke Ontario, travelled down to Toronto for the occassion. Before the parade/ceremony the Prince arrived at Queens Park to witness a number of soldiering demonstrations, snipers, weapons, soldiers rapelling down buildings and a parachute jump were all part of the show - and that was before the ceremony. The 91-year Prince seemed to try and engage with as many of the soldiers as possible, easily switching between seriousness to a quick laugh/smile with the troops. In this capture he discusses the setup of a machine gun with the Battalion's Sergeant-Major as the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario and The Battalion's Commanding Officer look on.

À 29 ans, Sarah Dallaire est capitaine et pilote pour l'escadron de démonstration aérienne, les Snowbirds. Une performance de la pilote Maryse Carmicheal, que Sarah Dallaire a vue à l'âge de 12 ans, a suffi pour lui insuffler un objectif qui deviendra réalité. « Elle était à ma sélection pour rejoindre les Snowbirds et ce moment-là était incroyable pour moi, parce que c'est vraiment le moment où j'étais avec Maryse Carmicheal, celle qui m'a inspirée et je réalisais maintenant mon rêve », partage celle qui a participé à une mission aérienne au Koweït en 2014.

On August 27, 2018 Latvian Land Forces Mechanized Infantry brigade, National Guard 1st Riga brigade and Canadien led eFP battlegroup Latvia personnel conducted delay and defence operations in Vecumnieki region, Latvia during military exercise “Namejs 2018”. The opposing force was soldiers from Polish Armed Forces and Czech Armed Forces.

La capitaine Sarah Dallaire réalise son rêve et encourage celles qui veulent devenir pilotes à tenter l'aventure.
À 29 ans, Sarah Dallaire est capitaine et pilote pour l'escadron de démonstration aérienne, les Snowbirds. Une performance de la pilote Maryse Carmicheal, que Sarah Dallaire a vue à l'âge de 12 ans, a suffi pour lui insuffler un objectif qui deviendra réalité. « Elle était à ma sélection pour rejoindre les Snowbirds et ce moment-là était incroyable pour moi, parce que c'est vraiment le moment où j'étais avec Maryse Carmicheal, celle qui m'a inspirée et je réalisais maintenant mon rêve », partage celle qui a participé à une mission aérienne au Koweït en 2014.

Taking off from Fort Calgary, is a Griffon and it's crew had just unhooked a cabled Canadian Flag attached to it's underbelly. It had just finished it's afternoon performance in front of a large crowd at a Calgary Stampede grandstand show. For 10 days a helicopter will perform this short evening routine for the event...

The Griffon helicopter is used by the Army to spot hostile forces and quickly insert troops into tense situations. The aircraft also provides medical support and search and rescue capabilities to the Land Force. It is equipped with the latest navigation, GPS, thermal and "night vision" systems.
