Twenty-two nations, 49 ships and six submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC exercise from June 26 to Aug. 1, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. Northrop YF17 COBRA: Canada liked it but did not want the soft 'air force 'landing gear and to have Northrop build it. So McDonnell Douglas was selected to build the New Fighter Aircraft as the F-18. It also lost to the F16 and Tornado in the ISAF competition.
The CF-18L Prototype was designated by Northrop, no such designation existed in the Canadian Air Force.
The picture was taken during the YF17 Canada tour back in 1978.

Canadian Armed Forces along with United States Army Military Police, conduct a presence patrol in the fictitious town of Enriquillo during Exercise Maple Resolve 14.
Exercise MAPLE RESOLVE is the Canadian Army's largest annual military exercise, the pinnacle of the Army's Road to High Readiness Training. Drawn primarily from units of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group from CFB Petawawa, Ontario, approximately 4 500 Canadian Armed Forces members are taking part in the exercise at Garrison Wainwright, Alberta from May 5 to June 1, 2014.
Also participating in the exercise are units from the United States Army, United States Marine Corps, and a British Infantry Company, bringing the total number of troops to nearly 5 000.

LAV III in Southern Afghanistan
Soldiers from Task Force Kandahar transport and provide security in a LAV III for the Task Force Kandahar (TFK) Command around the TFK Area of Operations.
Soldiers from Task Force Kandahar provided security to Brigadier-General Ahmed Habibi, Commander of the 1st Brigade of the 205th (Hero) Corps of the Afghan National Army and Task Force Kandahar Acting Commander, Colonel Richard Giguère, and Acting TFK Regimental Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer Gerald Blais. Together they visited Salavat and conducted a foot patrol near Chalghowr.
Joint Task Force Kandahar will continue robust security operations in conjunction with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA), Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), and its coalition and civilian partners in order to eliminate insurgent violence and set the conditions for successful and sustainable governance, development and peace in Southern Afghanistan.

I was downtown near the Union Station and the Royal York Hotel one day when I came across two Forces.Ca coaches.
At first I thought they're just regular coaches with a special army advertisement, upon close examination, I noticed that they have special Canada licence plates (not provincial licence plates), so now I think they're real army-operated coaches.
I think they're were taken on Veterans Day during the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) fair.
Approximately 3,000 soldiers with 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group marched approximately 20 km today on Garrision Petawawa (April 17, 2014) as part of Exercise Rucking Bear providing the soldiers with an opportunity to advance their level of physical toughness and readiness.
Assigned to 410 (Cougar) Sqn. with call-sign "Cougar 17" and here arriving on a cross-country navigation exercise.

Combat engineers scan the grounds for improvised explosive device
Combat engineers attached to Oscar Company, 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group, scan the grounds near a Canadian Forces leaguer in the Panjwa’i district for improvised explosive devices. Working under extreme heat and pressure, engineers work around the clock to clear dangerous routes and mitigate the dangers of improvised explosive devices.
In close cooperation with Afghan National Security Force, 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group provides security by conducting counter-insurgency operations throughout Panjwa’i district located south-west of Kandahar City. The Battle Group conducts partnered operations with the 2nd Kandak of the 1st Brigade, 205 Corps of the Afghan National army, Afghan National Police and the Panjwa’i district Governor in order to advance governance, reconstruction and security in the area.
Operation ATHENA is Canada’s participation in the International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan. Focused on Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan since the fall of 2005, Op ATHENA has one over-arching objective: to leave Afghanistan to Afghans, in a country that is better governed, more peaceful and more secure.

A Canadian Forces CC-150 Polaris strategic airlifter (a converted Airbus A310-300) departs Quebec City's Jean Lesage International Airport after returning a plane-load of soldiers back to Canada from Afghanistan.

On August 27, 2018 Latvian Land Forces Mechanized Infantry brigade, National Guard 1st Riga brigade and Canadien led eFP battlegroup Latvia personnel conducted delay and defence operations in Vecumnieki region, Latvia during military exercise “Namejs 2018”. The opposing force was soldiers from Polish Armed Forces and Czech Armed Forces.

Leopard 2A6M on over-watch
A Leopard 2A6M Main Battle Tank from The Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) and part of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group, provides over-watch under a bright moon during recent operations in the volatile Panjwa’i and Zhari Districts of Kandahar Province. The sheer size and firepower of the Leopard 2A6M Main Battle Tank makes it a formidable force and a huge deterrent to enemy insurgents.
In close cooperation with Afghan National Security Forces, 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group provides security by conducting counter-insurgency operations throughout Panjwa’i District located south-west of Kandahar City. The Battle Group conducts partnered operations with the 2nd Kandak of the 1st Brigade, 205 Corps of the Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police and the Panjwa’i District Governor in order to advance governance, reconstruction and security in the area.
Operation ATHENA is Canada’s participation in the International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan. Focused on Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan since the fall of 2005, Op ATHENA has one over-arching objective: to leave Afghanistan to Afghans, in a country that is better governed, more peaceful and more secure.

La taille imposante et la puissance de feu du char de combat principal Leopard 2A6M le rendent un outil impressionnant et un moyen de dissuasion important contre les insurgés.
En étroite collaboration avec les Forces de sécurité nationale afghanes, le groupement tactique du 1er Bataillon, The Royal Canadian Regiment, assure la sécurité en menant des opérations de contre-insurrection un peu partout dans le district de Panjwayi, au sud-ouest de la ville de Kandahar. Le groupement tactique mène des opérations en partenariat avec le 2e Kandak de la 1re Brigade, le 205e Corps de l’Armée nationale afghane, la Police nationale afghane et le gouverneur du district de Panjwayi afin d’améliorer la gouvernance, la reconstruction et la sécurité dans le secteur.
L’opération Athena constitue la participation du Canada à la Force internationale d’assistance à la sécurité (FIAS) en Afghanistan. Concentrée dans la province de Kandahar, dans le sud de l’Afghanistan, depuis l’automne 2005, l’opération Athena poursuit un objectif essentiel : laisser l’Afghanistan aux Afghans et en faire un pays mieux gouverné, plus paisible et plus sûr.
