Kristy's mom makes the best calzones ever. It's a Christmas tradition.

 

I wish my photo did them justice. These use a special kind of Italian ricotta with fresh mozzerella and ham. I can't wait to eat them again next year.

Homemade calzones filled with lots of pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, & pizza sauce!! We just used croissant dough & rolled it out a little in order to create these little goodies for the kids but of course the adults loved them too...

Calzone. (With mushroom, olive and cheddar cheese inside.) I made this for my friend.

Still figuring out the right sizes and proportions for calzones. Not there yet, but it's a lot of fun to keep testing.

Het ziet er uit als een hondekoekje. Het brood is slap en naar, de vulling heeft de structuur van kleine hondebrokken. Niet echt pittig en bovendien heel snel op. Niet echt een aanrader.

The filling was potatoes, sausage, basil pesto, olive oil and mozzarella cheese.

 

Turned out well, but my dough was too thick around the edges (a problem I always seem to have with my pizza too).

Leftovers from pizza making turn into calzones!! I sent one with John on his business trip, what a good wife I am!

We ordered 2 12" Calzone meals, there was a lot of it and we thoroughly enjoyed it all..special Big Jim meat Calzone for Dennis and Dan and the Vege option for Sandi and I, there were also 2x 2 litre bottles of Coca Cola...
