Off the coast of Lindisfarne, Northumberland.

Because spring approached, I went for a walk of the morning.

A lovely, slow burning sunset over the Coquet estuary. I couldn't believe how quiet it was, barely a soul about.

Ahuriri marina, Napier, New Zealand on a still winter's morning. My happy place.

The sunset at Llandulas tonight, in fact the first sunset I have ever photographed, quite impressed with the result.

The water's been unusually calm over the last two weeks, and we're still waiting for our first good NW swell of the season here in Kona. Maybe Christmas Eve according to the forecasts.

calmness in the evening

A Ring-necked duck silently swims in the calm morning waters.

I love Autumn, the weather is perfect, the trees are beautiful, and there's almost always a nice, pleasant breeze. It's also when Doctor Who comes on, which makes it even better.

It's a cold and windy day today, so I looked at some of my shots from a sunrise at the Rundle Park in Edmonton's River Valley, to cheer me up a bit. It worked ;D

mid February in the sunshine

A swift and agile gun sloop for coastal and port defence. In a calm, such sloops may attack becalmed vessels, which are helpless to return fire. The 18 pounder at its bow can punch holes in all but the largest vessels, and the small mortar at the stern gives some extra firepower for long range engagements.

Apart from the 10 oars, the gun sloop is a swift sailor. The lug sail and mast can be stowed when not in use.

Evening light and calm seas at Torcross in Devon, taken on an evening walk whilst on holiday.

This is Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park. This my first visit to Glacier National Park but my second in 2 days to this lake. This was a location I wanted to be sure and get a decent shot in my couple of days passing through.

I was hoping to stay longer and see several areas but the fires and intense smoke that goes with it made it next to impossible for good shots. And as would be expected a large section of the park was closed. This was my second visit to this lake because the day before the lake was like no other lake I had seen. The wind was was strong and the water had the action of an ocean with waves and white caps. Plus the smoke was hanging in the air and dulling the horizon. But on this morning before sunrise the water was calm and flat and some of the smoke had been blown out. But as you can see on the right hand side the colors in the sky are duller. That's because that area is where the fire was still burning. But despite that I was still able to get a shot for what this lake was famous for.
