Never quite content with the cushy life of a Matoran princess of Kordak Nui's Steppe villages, Boju proved to possess remarkable leader qualities when Dark Hunters invaded her home, proving her worthy of becoming Kojol's Toa Hagah of Air, alongside Toa Onuku.

Boju's MOC has been basically done for a while, just waiting on one last piece, an opening glider staff I modeled based on Aang's from A:TLA. Gonna need some modifications before it's ready for public printing, but I'll let you guys know when it's ready. In the meantime, you can get her Kanohi Calix and other designs 10% off today only on Shapeways!

Masks provided by Red Star Games, and the models can be bought here.

After Onuku, Boju becomes the second of Kojol's Hagah I've completed/revamped. Like the rest of my self-MOC team, she's based on an aspect of my personality, a rare, fun-loving side with biting sarcasm... which makes her all the more special to me. Her name roughly translates to "sprout," though personally I imagine Boju is a nickname for a much longer and more pretentious name.

La mateixa cala però des d'altra perspectiva. M'agrada com ha quedat la goteta en la punta doblada del calix.

La misma cala pero desde otra perspectiva. Me gusta como ha quedado la gotia en la punta doblada del cáliz.

Hexham has several Saxon relics including this small copper and gold chalice. It was discovered inside a stone coffin during renovations in 1860. The chalice was probably used by Saxon clerics to celebrate Holy Communion. It is on display in a protective glass case, but you can get very close to see how skilfully the two materials were fused together even in Saxon times. Chalices, by the Saxon era would have been lined with gold. Nowadays wooden and stone chalices are sometimes seen but according to the existing law of the Church the chalice, or at least the cup of it, must be made either of gold or of silver, and in the latter case the bowl must be gilt on the inside. In circumstances of great poverty or in time of persecution a calix stanneus (pewter) may be permitted, but the bowl of this also, like the upper surface of the paten must be gilt. I quite liked the reflections you can dimly see in the glass, especially the blue flame effect. The original picture was handheld and a bit blurry. This is scanned from my original print. I have lived nearby but took this one on a visit to the North East. It caught my eye when I was clearing out some old and mostly awful prints

"Assemble" takes on a whole new meaning as I work on putting the rest of Onuku's team together. I'm trying to move away from Toa Kordak as every time I call them that I get that one guy saying "but that's Lesovikk's team..." and, anyway, they probably never had that name.

Now that I have the Calix in hand, it's time to work on Boju. She's coming together nicely in just the last few days, but she still has a lot to do, especially in her torso. Ourus is coming together, and I really like her wings so far. Only other thing I feel satisfied with is her proportions, her armor is still coming together.

Let me know how you guys think they are coming along, and hopefully I'll be getting them and the others polished up soon. If you want more details on the team, check out the concept art.

Hey guys. I know it's been real quiet around here. Truth is, I've been working hard to finish the next member of Onuku's team to have something good to post in my last few uploads.

But you know, as time went on, I got tired of how long it takes to build MOCs. It's just not worth all the effort. I wanted to go back to a simpler time, and I realized, "These guys are Toa Hagah. Why not build them like Norik and Iruini?" Somehow the idea had never occurred to me.

So here are the final versions of Toa Onuku's team, from left to right, Arthra, Boju, Irohka, Onuku, Avganae, and Ourus. If you want to learn more about them, I've got a huge DA post on it.

Maybe I'll take more pictures when I feel they're worth the time.

"Deus que salve a casa santa

Onde Deus fez a morada

Onde mora o calix bento

E a hóstia consagrada

Os três reis tiveram notícia

Que havia um nascimento

Todos seguiram viagem

Com grande contentamento

Viajaram dia e noite

A caminho de Belém

Visitaram Deus Menino

Que nasceu pro nosso bem

No instante nas altura

Brilhou a estrela da guia

Pra mostrar aonde estava

O filho da Virgem Maria

Agradecemos a esmola

E o seu amor também

Os três reis me abençoa

Amor, Paz e Luz! Beijos e Gratidão!
