Stayed at Rainbow Canyon Motel in Caliente tonight. Nice and clean, wireless fast broadband. Friendly ladies running it. But no AT&T in town
These peppers are in almost every dish the vietnamese serve. This is the first time I've seen them outside of food or the market. These were spread on a blanket to sun-bake on the road between Cao Lanh and Long Xuyen.
An interesting note, When I stopped to take this picture a man stopped to talk to me. I greeted him in vietnamese and he smiled and went immediately to English (yes I'm that bad). It turns out his English was pretty good. He was 64 and fought in the war. He was surprised that I was only 19, but admired my adventurous spirit. We rode together for a few kilometers after I took the photo. I wish I had thought to get one of him.
