Garbage Generation (2019) is a body of work consisting of small scale dioramas constructed on top of discarded non-biodegradable waste products. The discarded waste collected acts as a self-portrait of the consumer, showing that ‘we are what we eat’. By recycling and reusing rubbish, Garbage Generation regains ownership over these forgotten objects, inscribing value and giving them a second life.
By mixing miniature scale objects with real sized rubbish in Garbage Generation, the trash becomes colossal and monumental. The reversal of scale in the work allows the viewer to take back control over the intangible and incomprehensible bodiless Hyperobject that is mass pollution. Garbage Generation leaves the viewer face to face with our usual ‘out of sight, out of mind’ approach to waste management. The hope for the work is to open a dialogue concerning our contemporary society’s throw-away mentality towards valuable materials
As you can see from his face he absolutely loved this, it was the highlight of his day. Luckily for him Elodie decided she wasn't going to have her turn so he got two rides!
Caleb is a Hunoi sculpt soul kid, in sandy brown skin.
I found him somewhat ugly before, but now he's been restyled by Dr Krow (╯°□°)╯︵┻━┻, I'm ecstatically happy. He's now a beautiful little angel.
I want to get him some wings....

i love this photo of caleb for many reasons. i love that you can see the mischief in his eyes, the playfulness of hiding, i love that he loves shawls so much and always has. i use them so much, especially when the boys were little bitty babies. they were my breastfeeding garment, their own private little tent where they could hide away from the big world or peek out at it if they chose. caleb got to where if i just showed him a shawl he would calm down and hide his own face and take a nap. i love that he still asks to be carried in it tied to my chest or back when he is too tired to walk. i love that today he insisted on sitting on it everywhere he went, even while riding his tricycle and it kept getting stuck in the wheels. i love that he asks for it when it rains to cover his whole body from the "walloo". i love that he still does these things because i know he won't for much longer.
