Mom: Oh, I used to have great costume jewelry. In fact, I still do—much of the costume jewelry I had from the eighties is worth quite a bit of money. Some of them were famous designs by people whose work now appears in Bergdorf and all the stars use these designers today. I happened to come across the artists' name online, and found an antique jewelry store that had one of my pieces for $1,500. It might've been a one-of-a-kind piece. I should research this more.

Grooms cake for a serious fan of Sun Tzu's, Art of War book. I did some research and discovered that one of the original writings was done on bamboo so I decided that would be kind of cool to do instead of just another book cake.

The model of Sun Tzu is RKT with fondant. I did him in the style of a terracotta warrior. Bummer that the picture isn't the greatest but this was a tough cake to photograph.

Many thanks go out to my friend Grace for planting the seed that led to the raised table.

Well I got the opportunity to do another table! I was so excited to do another one even though I had very little time to prep for it.

This was a table I done for Mother's Day and my Sister's Birthday which were both on Sunday 18th March, conveniently ;-)

A wedding cake collection created by bake-a-boo to make a fabulous cake table at the wonderful wedding of Leon and Vanessa.

The cake table consisted of cakes in deffierent flavours, shapes and sizes, with each cake topped with a vintage bride and groom cake topper, carefully sourced for months in the lead up to the wedding by the lovely bride!

In keeping with the 'bride & groom' theme, we also created a 'barbie and ken' cake choosing dolls to look like leon and vanessa, this was the main cake and was a surprise for them, which they loved.

Making these cakes was a real joy!! and as a guest at the wedding also, I got to see people's reactions to the cake we had so many lovely comments as people tucked in and could choose to have different cakes or a little bit of each!
