Today, May 3rd, is our first wedding anniversary!!!(Already!?!?)
When we were deciding on cake design for the wedding Erin asked me if I wanted LEGO topper/s. (I love her so much!!!) I replied as any AFOL would, with a resounding "YES!!! I love you!"
Each vignette symbolizes a step or period in the relationship.

A wedding cake collection created by bake-a-boo to make a fabulous cake table at the wonderful wedding of Leon and Vanessa.
The cake table consisted of cakes in deffierent flavours, shapes and sizes, with each cake topped with a vintage bride and groom cake topper, carefully sourced for months in the lead up to the wedding by the lovely bride!
In keeping with the 'bride & groom' theme, we also created a 'barbie and ken' cake choosing dolls to look like leon and vanessa, this was the main cake and was a surprise for them, which they loved.
Making these cakes was a real joy!! and as a guest at the wedding also, I got to see people's reactions to the cake we had so many lovely comments as people tucked in and could choose to have different cakes or a little bit of each!

Mom: This is a happy birthday cake...right? To who? I can't see.
Me: Holly!
Mom: Oh yeah, I used to get Holly an ice cream cake every year. From Carvel. And Holly loved it! Do you want to know her exact birthday?
Me: Yeah!
Mom: Oh, that brings back such nice memories! Holly was March 7th.
Me: Did she actually eat the cake?
Mom: Yeah, she loved it! We loved it too. I always got the flavor I liked.
Me: Which was?
Mom: Chocolate. I always mixed chocolate and vanilla with the chocolate crunchies.
Me: Wait, I thought dogs can't have chocolate.
Mom: I gave her parts that were mostly vanilla. But dogs shouldn't have ice cream cake either. In those days, I knew very little about dogs, and you couldn't go online to find out information. The people I knew considered me odd because I mainly gave Holly dog food and just a little bit of people food, whereas they gave their dogs mainly people food. So, we've come a long way, because Christie eats no people food now.

This is part of a dessert bar we prepared. We designed mini cupcakes garnished with flowers that were from the wedding colors. We placed a little bit of moss around the tree slices to complete a wooded, outdoors style.

Cake Pops make fantastic place settings at your wedding and also double up as favours for your guests!
Mom: Look at that smile on your face, with your godfather. You seem to be enjoying it. And look at how your little arms...you know how babies' arms tighten up when they get all excited? So you look like your were having a good little time with your godfather.
There's a chocolate cake underneath all the snooker-ness! This cake was ordered as a surprise for the client's partner who apparently loves his snooker. She sent me a photo of a similar cake (Donna Makes Cakes I think, thank you!) and asked me to make one as similar as possible...www.fairydustbakery.co.uk

I started this journey on my birthday last year, and finish it on my last day of being thirty-three!
On looking back at this whole business, it's definitely not 365 masterpieces, but there are so many photos of which I am proud. And that's been my purpose and my motivation on those days when it's 10 pm and I've still not got a picture of the day. Again!
This last year of photos has been a lot of things - challenging, frustrating, calming, inspiring. But most of all, it's been a blast! I've enjoyed following all your photostreams, learning from everyone here, and improving my eye and my skills. I have so very much appreciated your comments and feedback, both here on flickr, on Photojojo, and in the classrooms of the 'Picture' series of classes. What an amazing group, I'm so glad to have found you!
Thanks, too, to my family and friends that have been following along! It's been so much fun hearing what you think about the latest upload and your encouragement kept me honest (NO CHEATS!) and kept me on track to the end. Thanks for letting me use you gorgeous creatures as models, waiting patiently for me to get the shot, and giving me location tips and great shot ideas. It was so much more fun having you involved! To all the bubble blowers, food holders, location scouts, art directors, bokeh people, and the impatient and hungry - thank you!
My 365 is done, but I've so much more to learn. See you around!
