Time to show you the cake my sister made for the wedding! Here's that moment when Matt and Sophie cut into the cake! (Sophie's Dad couldn't have found a bigger knife!!)
Inspired by David Hobby's recent article on photographing a cake, I got the recipe and made the cake today. It's the first i've ever made and came out really tasty.
I also wanted to photograph it in a way that referred to DH's shot, but with a more australian focus.

Sweet Sunny! So it was you who put all those lavenders on the table!
Finally, I found evidence showing how it all happened. Grape must have invited the rainbow sprites, but they startled poor Sunny who does not know them yet, arriving suddenly out of nowhere (like they always do) while she was preparing the table for the party. She got dressed especially for the occasion, even put on her very special pair of shoes we got for her recently.
Oh! I forgot to tell what the occasion was! Well, it's my birthday ^_^ I'm completing my 31st year on this world and determined to continue playing with dolls as far as it goes ;) And I want to use this chance to thank you all my dear friends, for taking your time to look at my little pieces of imagination and to share my excitement... Thank you so much for your support, for playing along with me ^_^ What a sweet world you showed me, where dreams never cease to exist <3
Time to show you the cake my sister made for the wedding! I took a photo of it soon after we arrived at the reception. She did a fantastic job (used more than 30 eggs!) There was a fruit sponge layer, chocolate layer and jam sponge layer - something for everyone!!
It's lucky my sister made them a cake, as after she'd agreed to do it, Sophie said that they had a free offer of a white, traditional cake. But as Matt and Sophie wanted a more original wedding, they still wanted my sister to do hers. The only instructions they gave were a green cake and a brown cake, in a kind of woodland theme! As it turned out, the traditional cake never materialised!
It was Simon's sister-in-law's birthday recently and she had a lovely selection of cakes on offer.
All home made, all delicious, all gone about 8 seconds after this picture was taken.
Molly was rewigged today and has officially established her "look." I threw her a birthday party to celebrate :)

I had such a blast putting my sister~in~laws baby shwer together. This was the cake table display. I wish I had gotten more pictures of all of the baby food jar favors, bookmarks, and pots. I got alot of compliments. Baby showers are so much fun.
If anyone needs help coming up with ideas for a baby shower with a theme or not, jusk ask, I have done alot of research on the net and I may be able to come up with some ideas if anyone is stuck. : )

My daughter's first birthday cake table. The cake only managed to come together thanks to my wonderful bestie spending a whole day at my house this week ganaching and covering every cake. :)
Not only did she come over, but she also brought over her gorgeous and very talented daughter, who made me the bunting and covered the cake dummies used for the cookies with cardboard waves (which she cut freehand).
The cookies are sugar cookies, modified to use coconut sugar and spelt flour. I also used Helen Shroyer's cookie icing which was modified so that I didn't have to go out shopping when I started making it. I had no pure icing sugar so used icing mix and no cream of tartar, because I had none ;)
I didn't mean to be subversive and not follow the recipe, it just happened that when I had time to do it, I didn't have the right ingredients and no time to go out and get more.

After a "fun" birthday weekend in the ER, we finally were able to celebrate Dad's birthday. Better late than never
this is Anna's desert buffet that i made the cake and mini cupcakes for i loved it!!
Imbue weddings coordinated this wedding and kristy designed the buffet herself (wedding coordinator) even down tomaking the little wraps for the mini cupcakes - even the plates ahd matching paper liners on them!! it looked so yummy wish i was a guest hehe
