Lani's 1st Birthday cake table
My daughter's first birthday cake table. The cake only managed to come together thanks to my wonderful bestie spending a whole day at my house this week ganaching and covering every cake. :)
Not only did she come over, but she also brought over her gorgeous and very talented daughter, who made me the bunting and covered the cake dummies used for the cookies with cardboard waves (which she cut freehand).
The cookies are sugar cookies, modified to use coconut sugar and spelt flour. I also used Helen Shroyer's cookie icing which was modified so that I didn't have to go out shopping when I started making it. I had no pure icing sugar so used icing mix and no cream of tartar, because I had none ;)
I didn't mean to be subversive and not follow the recipe, it just happened that when I had time to do it, I didn't have the right ingredients and no time to go out and get more.
