As if a Caddy isn't bling enough already, the owner applied a sparkly coat of paint to this classic Cadillac (as well as a few red rose stencil motifs), giving it a very showy diamond effect. Many of you know that I've a huge interest in gemstones and jewels. Needless to say, I simply LOVE this limousine!
My friend Rod (former flickr member) alerted me about a free public vintage car show "Kars on King" in Oshawa. I took a coupe hours of vacation time and we met up to check out the event.
I took almost 300 photos and here are a few of the more special ones!
This was the first time I ever went 100 miles an hour in a Cady like hot rod Lincoln lore. The dude in Green will wreck it not long after this was taken. Ah the 80s.
1949 Cadillac, Berthoud, Colorado
During World War II, no cars, commercial trucks or auto parts were manufactured by Detroit automakers, under orders from the government's Office of Production Management. Chevrolet, for example, built military trucks and armored scout cars, as well as tank parts and airplane engines during that time. With chromium needed for the war effort, automakers were compelled to curtail use of brightwork. The manufacturers were able to return to car production soon after the war ended in 1945. This Cadillac sedan was one of the most stylish of the post-war models.

The updated version of an earlier attempt which I placed in club competition. It did not do well for 2 reasons.
1> The judge did not know what a Caddy is; trust me to find the only person in the western world not to know that knickname.
2> It came out flat and lacking in contrast on the projector. This is unedited so I will be interested to see it it looks wishy washy on your screens. Maybe my Mac is giving me false readings.
I think a more reasonable critique might suggest cropping some sky out to put the horizon on the third. The sky is not that exciting.
