Voir un authentique « cab'trac » tient de la gageure : la plupart de ces autos sont en fait des conduites intérieures transformées par d'ingénieux carrossiers. La qualité du travail se remarque à la courbure du coffre arrière, très difficile à reproduire. Rien de tel pour cette auto, livrée neuve en janvier 1939 au grand-père du propriétaire actuel.
See an authentic " cab'trac " is particularly challenging : most of these cars are actually sedans transformed by ingenious coachbuilders . The quality of work is noticeable to the curvature of the trunk , very difficult to reproduce. Nothing like this car , delivered new in January 1939 the grandfather of the current owner .

Looking rough for a car that's only covered 69k, with a good number of MOT fails/advisories. Tough life in central London I guess.

Very nice looking car. Based on Mk2 facelift A3, it's like a modern version of the old soft tops based on C segment model. Model that immediately comes to my mind is Mk1 Golf Cabrio. This is 2008-2013 model. Sadly, cars like this are completely extinct as none of the manufacturers offer C segment convertibles.
A new model for 1984, the Escort Cabriolet was the first convertible in Ford's European catalog since the Mk II Zephyr (though other European Fords were converted to convertible status in the 60's and 70's). The Cabriolet was assembled by Karmann in Germany.
