The Peugeot 304 Berline launched in 1969, designed to slot between the recently launched flagship 504 and the smaller 204, upon which the 304 was based. Like other contemporary Peugeots, styling was by the Italian masters at Pininfarina.
Launched initially in Berline (saloon) and Break (wagon) form, this model was joined by a Coupe and Convertible a year later in 1970. The Berline used the centre body section from the 204, though with a longer rear overhang (by 135mm). Other body types reused the rear bodies from their respective 204 versions. All 304s shared the new nose, reminiscent of the larger 504.
All versions of Peugeot 404 were powered by four-cylinder engines mounted transversely, with the gearbox included in the sump. Petrol engines ranged from 1,127cc (59 hp) to 1,357cc (65 hp), along with a 1,548cc diesel producing 45-47 hp.
French production of the 304 ran from 1969 to 1980, whereupon, it was replaced by the larger 305 model (launched in 1977), using much of the same mechanical hardware.
The lovely 304 Convertible / Cabriolet shown here, was built through to 1975, of which 19,000 were manufactured, 836 of which were RHD models for the UK.

From MrBenn. Values of these seem to have been at rock bottom for years. Only recently I was looking at one advertised locally for £595. Surely they'll start appreciating soon.
A new model for 1984, the Escort Cabriolet was the first convertible in Ford's European catalog since the Mk II Zephyr (though other European Fords were converted to convertible status in the 60's and 70's). The Cabriolet was assembled by Karmann in Germany.

Hardly ever see these around, thankfully. A Barina isn't the nicest car to start with an chopping off half the roof and replacing it with a tent isn't going to improve it much.
Mercedes-Benz had traditionally assigned a compact 2-door coupe to its midrange cars, beginning withe the W114 of 1968, followed by the W123 of 1976 and the W124 of 1985. This did not occur for the W210.
The Coupe model was now assigned to the W202 C-Class (the followup to the 1983 W201), a model which had grown in size, not much smaller than the W124. For 1997 a coupe and cabriolet version were built upon the C-Class platform, and assigned the C208 model code.
The new models were available with four-cylinder engines (including a supercharged version), the new 3.2 L V6 and 4.3 L V8, both configured with DOHC 3-Valve heads.
The range was updated in late 1999 with full-depth body-colours front and rear bumpers and sills. In 2000 an AMG version of the car with a 5.4 L V8 named the CLK 55 was made available in the Coupe, and in 2002, the Cabriolet.
