Put CSL splitters on the front bumper yesterday. Nice touch to the front end since I'm still not set on a front lip yet. Not 100% about this rig photo, but I'm too lazy to work on it tonight.
Chicago Surface Lines "Matchbox" 1374 (St Louis 1905 order 715) @Illinois Railway Museum 7-4-90
The Matchboxes were too small for even the lighter lines in Chicago. As more of the lighter lines were converted to bus and as the PCC's made larger cars more available, the y were gone from revenue service by the CTA takeover. 1374 survived by being converted to a salt car to de-ice the streets in winter. This is a good restoration job.
Another old Summer BMW 3.2 CSL rescued by Mikaela from a charity shop which was lucky, I imagine the vast majority of these and other Summer products would have long since been dispatched to landfill!
So unspeakably crude yet somehow rather charming too which is how a lot of their products can be summed up and is why they are becoming rather collectible at the moment.
A CSL movement is seen on CSX's Lake Sub. In the foreground, one could still see the Four New York Central mains in the pavement of this street in Whiting, in September 1998. The EJ&E Lake Front Line is beyond the CSX Lake Sub.

Both of CSL's SW1001s, Nos 28 and 29, head east on the B&O's Lake Sub, on a very foggy morning in April 1980.
