Conner Prairie guests have the rare opportunity to go back in time to the 1860’s and witness a Civil War battle reenactment complete with cavalry units, talk with a soldier, enlist in the Army or visit an infantry camp. Confederate and Union reenactors from around the region will hold artillery demonstrations, infantry drills and battles on both Saturday and Sunday.
In May 2008, we visited the Civil War Reenactment at Conner Prairie Park in Fishers, IN, with a friend's family. Cannon shots were fired and maybe a 100 man walked up and down in Union and Confederate uniforms (the latter seemed to be more popular). Visitors were watching the scenes from the hill like we did - dressed up against the cold wind.
