I remember this day well, even though it is over two years ago, one of those days where I all I had to do was point the camera to produce great images, a very high level of "Keepers" were produced, probably why some have not been processed till now.

It would be easy to get depressed about the quality of the work I'm doing at the moment, but the reality is these are being "Cherry picked" from over two years of photography, if I did the same with the last two years files I would be more than happy!

While attending a conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I noticed this chandelier hanging in the hotel where some of meetings occurred. The lighting was low, so with a shallow DoF, slightly unexposed shot, I was able to "turn" everything in the background to black (nothing was removed from the background to create this shot). No flash was used and I had to use a pillar to help stabilize the shot (no tripod available).

I deliberately trapped air bubbles in this bead - you can see their shapes and edges clearly in the phote - and then cored it with a tube of copper.

this bead is amazingly smooth, balanced and well shaped on the outside, with all kinds of interesting things catching your eye from the inside.
