CRYSTAL-CLEAR photos on Flickr

I discovered this gem of a waterfall on the Pacific Crest Trail, section "J" near Snoqualmie Pass in Washington State's Cascade mountains. As I set off from the trailhead, I kept hearing the sound of rushing water but unfortunately, the trail didn't seem to be taking me very close to it. Finally, I found a spur trail that led off in the direction of the river and after about a quarter-mile, I was rewarded with a gorgeous river pouring steeply downhill, resulting in waterfall after impressive waterfall, all of it on the west side of the mountain, thus exposed to the sun's setting light.

I followed the river downstream for about a mile before taking an involuntary swim and heading back. I still can't believe how amazing that river was.

The glow on the trees and mountains is the result of the Chateau Lake Louise's lights.

Kind of funny but while I took these shots I noticed the occasional flash. At first I thought I was imagining it but I realized it was people near the hotel attempting to photograph the beautiful night scene. I was some distance out onto the lake so I doubt they knew i was out there.

Just a hint to anyone taking night images using point-and-shoot cameras...shut the flash off and put the camera on something stable. As good as your flash is, it can't light a landscape.

My dear husband (bless his heart) doesn't like hot places while his wife is very keen on beaches. He's still accompanying me as much as he can, still soldiered up - put on a smile (and a towel on his head) to keep up. We took this picture before he cool himself off in the shade while I play at the sea again. I love him so much :) The most sincere person I've ever known :)

National costume theme:

Italy is a country rich in history, traditions, art, fashion, natural beauties... In Italy you can find breathtaking landscapes with high mountains, rolling hills and crystal clear sea. In Italy you can find good music, good food and excellent wine. It's a small country, Italy, but known throughout the world... and Italy is made above all of people, people who are mostly sunny, festive and hospitable even if there are, as happens everywhere, people who are not exactly beautiful.

Tilly wanted to represent Italy having people in mind and she wanted to do it in a slightly abstract, modern, fun way and playing with lights.

Hence the gushing hair and the little drops around, like the waters of Italian rivers, lakes and seas, the deliberately unclassical clothes .. all in the colors of the Italian flag: green has always been a color that indicates freedom and equality, values carried forward to achieve the unification of Italy. This shade also indicates hope and is combined with white, a symbol of faith, and red, the color of love and blood shed by those who gave their lives for Italy.

However, I was saying, the Italians are witty people and they wanted to joke about this too.. so it is said that the Italian flag represents the Margherita, the most classic of pizzas (another well-known symbol of Italy): the red of the tomato, the white of the mozzarella and the green of the basil.

Don't you know it? Tilly invites you to Italy to taste it, perhaps comfortably seated at a table in a restaurant overlooking the sea of one of our many and suggestive gulfs!
