Carved Celtic Cross in the corner of kirkyard in Lennoxtown, with the Campsie Hills in the background, clouds coming down over the summit on an overcast winter's day. I was out with dad taking a couple of shots of the hills and clouds, but couldn't resist getting this old cross into one of the pics...
A very similar view to my shot aleady on Flickr - this one includes more of the tender . Second of March, 1963.
Crossed keys are the symbols of St Peter, the apostle of Jesus who traditionally guards the gates of Heaven.

This was the loco's first appearance with domino route indicator panels which was a requirement of the Eastern Region at the time.

People often ask me what the Cross Timbers is. It's a long, narrow ecoregion that runs from East-Central Kansas, through Central Oklahoma and down into Central Texas. Only about 40-miles wide, it separates the big forests of the East from the Southern Plains. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

Hi guys,
I'm proud to show you this MOC I built in Mecabricks and I rendered in Blender !
This creation is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's drawing about a crossed staircase: there are two ramps, one for go upstairs and the other one for go downstairs... the peculiarity is that people going different way will never met! 😂
Then, a little game: can you find this little details?
• a spider,
• a bat,
• Lego® Classic Space logo,
• a binoculars,
• Wally,
• a map,
• a frog
Tell me if you'll find them all!

I was delighted to stumble upon Windy Post Cross on the way back to the car following my morning shoot on Saturday. This is a location I have been to a couple of times before, most recently during an evening star trail shoot, but have been meaning to go back to during the day.
The low sun to the left of shot was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to find a composition here that didn't result in any lens flare. This is a 30 second exposure, taken using the B+W 110 filter.
I welcome your comments, both positive and constructive.

Saw this hawk sitting on top of this church's cross right before a storm. I caught it out of the corner of my eye and just had to pull over and take a picture. With storm clouds brewing in the background it was a pretty ominous sight. Not sure if I believe in omens, but if there is such a thing this has to be one.

In Akaora with my Flickr and blip friend. February 22, 2016 Akaroa, New Zealand.
The day was cold and felt like rain but it didn't. We had a good look around Ōnuku.
This small church on the Onuku Maori reserve near Akaroa is the only tangible reminder of the once thriving Maori community. Completed in 1878 the church was planned to accommodate sixty people and though primarily for the Maori local, Pakeha settlers were also welcome.
A plain timber building with steeply pitched shingle roof its religious purpose is denoted by the tiny bell turret and surmounting crosses. It is picturesquely set in the bay on Akaroa Harbour and is enclosed by a delightfully unregimented picket fence.
Despite infrequent use the church is carefully maintained and is in excellent order. It is important as a memorial to the Onuku Maori and as the only Maori Church remaining on Banks Peninsula.

Due to engineering works round Castle Bromwich Junction, this working as well as 6V93 needed to find another way across Birmingham. 6V93 headed through Soho and New Street before rejoining its normal route and heading over the Camp Hill line. On the other hand, 66030 heads along the CrossCity line with 6V81 Masborough FD to Cardiff Tidal TC, again with 4-wheelers. The train would head through New Street and out through Five Ways to Kings Norton. A shame it didn't traverse the whole CrossCity line, although this section sees very few locos, never mind a proper freight working.

The Great Cross
Continuing eastward one soon comes under the shadow of the Great Cross. This massive structure, made of stainless steel and rising two hundred and eight feet above the marshes of the Matanzas River, stands as a sentinel over the Mission and a “Beacon of Faith” for all who pass this way.

In the immortal words of Bill S. Preston, Esquire...
I watched "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" again a couple of months ago and had been wanting to stitch this ever since.
