we live in an old victorian mansion built in the late 1800's. many of the original features are still intact, like the floors and the old water boiler heaters. [that beige thing on the far, far wall behind mishi is an antique boiler radiator heater cover, covering the radiator heater pipes.]
it has it's charms and it's drawbacks. they certainly don't make houses like this anymore.

I made all of the bedding. Just need to add ties to the bumpers, make another sheet, and see if I like it all.
We were fostering Alice, a pregnant momma cat that had eight kittens in September. All kittens and their mom have since been adopted, and now we're having our own little kid. Before Alice left she wanted to pose in the crib. Such a nostalgic cat.

The crib was actually given to me by my boss. When I got pregnant, he offered it to me, saying his last baby would be about 2 years old and out of it by the time I would need it. I'm not one to turn down free furniture, especially if it looks exactly like what I was envisioning for the room! It's originally from Room & Board.
I FINALLY got it from him a few weeks ago, when I was about 35 weeks, which is why it's taken so long for us to get this room all set up. Better late than never!
As the birth of our first is drawing near (5 weeks to go!), we decided to set up the crib today. I badly hurt my finger at the outset (yup), so my sister-in-law helped us out.
The "business" view of the wire crib. Looking at this meant you usually had a corn rake in your hand. The rakes with steel handles were much heavier than the wooden handle rakes were. In the winter time the steel handles kept your hands nice and cold!
