Orange cosmos stumped me. I knew the flowers and seedhead looked like the pastel lavender and pink flowers I love, but still... orange? Yes it is cosmos, a different variety but hardy to our hot summers and late blooming.
Good Morning,
I will posting and running this morning. I will catch up with your images later, so forgive me.
My Son and I are off on a Museum visit today. He's got some holiday from work. So he and his Dad are off to a Naval Museum one of the days and I will be visiting the Natural History and Aircraft Museums the other days. We have to do it in shifts as Lily is still only 5.5 months and can only be left a few hours, so one stays home and two go out.
The weekend should be restful thank goodnes as Luke will be out with friends, so no rushing about hahahaha... that's 25 years olds for ya.
Can you spot the rain droplet?
This is the last blooming Cosmos in my garden..

Lovely white Cosmos grown from seed. They aren’t big plants or flowers. I hope the next ones I sow are. Happy Hump Day

Thank you everyone for views, comments, faves, invites and awards. I was out of town for 5 days after I posted this so I am way behind in acknowledging comments.
I could not resisist taking a pic of this colourful Cosmos flower growing happily in our garden. The hover-fly was an added bonus. Taken yesterday at f/2.8 1/4,000sec

Some summer memories and to add more images to my 40mm Micro-Nikkor lens album. This lens is still relatively new to me and I continue to explore what this lens can do with macro and beyond it. I quite like it so far. Also, I must say that after mostly using the manual vintage primes for flower and nature photography, I find it more challenging to get get the images I want by using auto-focus, so I keep switching between auto and manual focus with this lens. However, auto-focus does come in handy with fast moving insects or in the wind. :-)
Happy Friday everyone!

Captured on a bright May morning in 2025, the soft white petals glow against a vibrant blue sky dotted with fluffy clouds. The sun’s rays peek through, casting a magical lens flare that adds a dreamy touch to this serene scene. Nature’s beauty at its finest—perfect for a moment of calm and reflection.
Cosmos are annuals, grown for their showy flowers. The flowerheads may be bowl– or open cup–shaped and are atop of long stems. Cosmos are easy to grow and make good border or container plants. They make for good decorations in flower arrangements and also attract birds, bees, and butterflies to your garden.
