This is a 27" square wallhanging of one Cosmic Star block (pattern by Tracey Jacobson -Traceyjay) pieced by me and quilted by Janet Archibald - WhatComesNext? I used Lipari shot cottons courtesy of Oakshott and a tone on tone black batik as background and binding. Blogged
It's 3 in the morning - what on earth am I doing!!!? Just a bit of daftness. The 'starfield' originates from this picture: www.flickr.com/photos/nicklayton/3859614008/ the specs of dust that are kicked up on cam right of Emily's face and are here laid down with layers and curves adjusted on 3 separate layers (one with radial blur set to low strength). The lightstream was created with an led keyring and duplicated with motion blur. The light on her hands and face is a layer above her with an expanded section of the led light and the setting adjusted to overlay. I almost wasn't going to put this picture up but I love Hannah's almost playful expression.
This is a collaboration piece that I did with Ian Morris using Acrylics on 16×20 inch canvas. This cosmic king looks as if he has a unicorn horn coming from his head. If you flip it 90 degrees clockwise you’ll also see a Phoenix bird with its wings spread and white talon claw.
NATARAJA
Shiva as Nataraja - Lord of the Dance. Chola bronze. 12th century A.D.
'He dances, a whirl
of motion,
the great lord
bearing fire, crowned
with the crescent and the Ganga,
as his golden ankles chime
and his serpents dance, too.'
- Saint Sundarar
The Chola bronzes are quite the most fantastic bronzes I can remember seeing!

Cosmic cal. Pattern is from crystalsandcrochet.com/. This was made in dk with 3.5mm hook using odd balls (leftovers from past projects) which explains the weird colours.
This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope image is chock-full of galaxies — each glowing speck is a different galaxy, bar the bright flash in the middle of the image which is actually a star lying within our own galaxy that just happened to be in the way. At the center of the image lies something especially interesting, the center of the massive galaxy cluster called WHL J24.3324-8.477, including the brightest galaxy of the cluster.
The Universe contains structures on various scales — planets collect around stars, stars collect into galaxies, galaxies collect into groups, and galaxy groups collect into clusters. Galaxy clusters contain hundreds to thousands of galaxies bound together by gravity. Dark matter and dark energy play key roles in the formation and evolution of these clusters, so studying massive galaxy clusters can help scientists to unravel the mysteries of these elusive phenomena.
This infrared image was taken by Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys and Wide-Field Camera 3 as part of an observing programme called RELICS (Reionization Lensing Cluster Survey). RELICS imaged 41 massive galaxy clusters with the aim of finding the brightest distant galaxies for the forthcoming NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to study. Such research will tell us more about our cosmic origins.

A pretty bodyshot of dancer Eli Levinzon, taken at the Academie de Danse de Montreal
Pose courtesy of owner Melanie Hattem, also another dancer!
Personally, I've been wanting to practice a little more on the subtle lighting side of things so I challenged myself to take an interesting body shot. And of course, me being me just felt the ridiculous need to add a crazy background. Cosmic Cruiser in classic colors. Still one of my favorite designs but in my opinion looks better this way.
Cosmic Jellyfish
Fun drawing I have been wanting to do but haven't had the time. Used a reference but only for a sec, mainly did this from imagination. Used soft/dry pastels, hb pencils, charcoal, acrylic paint on back of cereal cardboard box 8x10 :P
Time:2.5hrs Lens flare added in digitally&manually
