She has taken over the field and marsh to raise her baby. Technically it's her home and space and we just borrow it. She watches me and I watch her and we try to go about our day without any conflict. She has however made it very difficult to walk and exercise my dogs. I can't take them anywhere near her or her fawn so we now have about 1/4 of the space I usually do for walks and exercise. Such is life where the wild things live.
A DMVW afternoon crew has arrived to take their road freight south from Max, ND as Canadian Pacific's H51-23 pulls in off the Newtown Subdivision. In just a few minutes, CP's local will lop off a few of their cars which they pulled west from Drake, ND and hand them over to DMVW before their departure. In all, 5 different species of EMD variants with 2 railroads in one shot. If that doesn't help illustrate the allure of railroads in the Dakotas, nothing will.
This was taken today with full sun and full cooperation. He just sat there for 10 minutes while we casually clicked away They are just beautiful to see.
The car is a mixture of a 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook and 1953 Dodge Coronet front, a so called 'Frankenstein car'. In the background the wonderful Art Deco building "Edificio López Serrano".

DGS 59904 from Regensburg Ost to Imsumer Deich was hauled along its entire route by 193 878 on 20 February 2021. The fire Vectron of TXLogistik in front of the closed ARS car transport wagons set a strong colour accent in the bare early spring landscape near Sinngrün in the Upper Palatinate. Originally, a different realisation of the motif was planned - however, the people below were extremely uncooperative and did not want anyone to join them. Not in order to avoid a risk of infection - I would have had absolute understanding for that. No, it was just that they had cut away a few branches in advance and now had - in their opinion - a sole right to a photo of the train. Fortunately, my hobby colleagues were able to help themselves with their ladders, but I didn't feel like discussing it and moved to another location. There, however, the train was hit by a counter-train, so that only this snapshot turned out to be possible. In the end, I show this unsuccessful picture as an appeal for better cooperation - with the vast majority of photographers, this works out quite well.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜
Two Toledo Peoria and Western trains pass over each other at the Farmdale trestle near East Peoria, Illinois. Above is the the Effner Local with GP38-2s Nos. 2002 and 2008, curving over the Morton Switcher with GP18 No. 600. This photo was arranged by McMillan Publications with the cooperation of TP&W (who paused both trains for photos) for the Joe McMillan and Robert P. Olmsted book “The Peoria Way” featuring the railroad. This scene was only possible for 54 days at the end of the TP&W before the merger with Santa Fe at the end of 1983. Recently acquired trackage rights on the lower line via Norfolk and Western used to reach Morton made the shot possible.

A second shot of the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca one of Toledo’s most beautiful buildings in my opinion.
The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca originally known as the Ibn Shushan Synagogue, is a museum and former synagogue in Toledo, Spain. Erected in 1180, according to an inscription on a beam, it is disputably considered the oldest synagogue building in Europe still standing.
Its stylistic and cultural classification is unique among surviving buildings as it was constructed under the Christian Kingdom of Castile by Islamic architects for Jewish use. It is considered a symbol of the cooperation that existed among the three cultures that populated the Iberian Peninsula during the Middle Ages.
The synagogue is a Mudéjar construction, created by Moorish architects for non-Islamic purposes. But it can also be considered one of the finest example of Almohad architecture because of its construction elements and style. The plain white interior walls as well as the use of brick and of pillars instead of columns are characteristics of Almohad architecture. There are also nuances in its architectural classification, because although it was constructed as a synagogue, its hypostyle room and the lack of a women's gallery make it closer in character to a mosque.
This was hand held in fairly low light

The Jewish monument lists 50 names. These are the names that were known at the time the monument was erected in 2012. Archive research by the municipality of Ede in recent years has shown that many more people were arrested in Ede. In order to do justice to these people, the Stichting Joods Monument Ede, in close cooperation with the municipality of Ede, decided to adjust the monument. A new cover plate with all 183 names will be placed on the current monument.

However dragonflies, like this Four Spotted Pennant, don't exactly understand, or care, much about cooperation when it comes to photography.
Having gotten mostly rear end shots during recent outings, I finally managed to find this fellow, who was fairly cooperative and provided his profile long enough to grab a few shots.

So cool to see my friends working so well together. I also liked the flying sparks of course. Sylvie (the cat) and I watched them work from behind the tree.
For the last six months I have been working on photo, story telling project at sawmill down the road from me. The sawmill takes in tree trunks from many tree species and cuts them up into various widths of boards and beams. It is a expansive, well run operation. I have made over 800 keeper images and those will be edited down to about 100 for a book!
The owners and workers have welcomed me and given me their full cooperation.

Canaima National Park is a 30,000 km2 (12,000 sq mi) park in south-eastern Venezuela that roughly occupies the same area as the Gran Sabana region. It is located in Bolívar State, reaching the borders with Brazil and Guyana. The park was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Canaima National Park was established on 12 June 1962. As early as 1990, the countries that participate in the Amazonian Cooperation Treaty had recommended expanding the Canaima National Park southward to connect it with Monte Roraima National Park in Brazil, with coordinated management of tourism, research and conservation.
In 1994, the Canaima National Park was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The International Union for Conservation of Nature performed a conservation assessment in 2017, which listed Canaima National Park as an area of significant concern, citing ineffective protection and management.

Working with a SIGMA ART Series 85mm 1.4f has been nothing short of sheer pleasure. For years I shied away from this lens because I was a bit afraid of it being too specific....but now, I am going to have a difficult time getting it off the mount and back to the dealer. Damn. Going to have to get one.
Even roaming on the street has proven to give me new inspiration and interesting DOF. Budget blown...

Saw lots of dragonflies on Flickr without understanding how they interact. This pair of Common Green Darners, Anax junius, may help. After mating with that heart-shaped yoga pose we often see (eg, 1st comment), they fly in tandem while he (blue) continues to clasp her (green) by the neck. Somehow finding a suitable spot, she deposits eggs on the underwater stem of an aquatic plant, here a bed of invasive Water Hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes, in White Lake, Cullinan Park, Sugar Land, TX. Surface tension in water is a big obstacle for these little fliers, so his involvement offers a clear evolutionary advantage. How they communicate decisions during the whole process still eludes me entirely.
Happy Sliders Sunday! Single exposure, optimized in post.

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.”
― Carl Sagan
Words to live by. Impossible for me to not read these words and hear his voice. I have carried these wise words wth me for a very long time, allowing them to remind me that I am the limit to my imagination.
Today, I am considering story and how important it is to understand how it connects us to ourselves and being human. Mr. Sagan left us much wisdom to consider that I am discovering again exploring some of his work as it sheds a bit of light onto my own.
A billion thanks. Off to explore...see you soon.

Cooperation between a father to his daughter... between a mother and her son.
The semi "stones" I made with my eldest son, when he was 6... and many other things :-) as well.
The one on right, I arrange for the Pewter pendant.
The one on left, my father arranged in a silver ring, hand made by himself.
Thanks for visiting.
Have a creative weekend!
