A DMVW afternoon crew has arrived to take their road freight south from Max, ND as Canadian Pacific's H51-23 pulls in off the Newtown Subdivision. In just a few minutes, CP's local will lop off a few of their cars which they pulled west from Drake, ND and hand them over to DMVW before their departure. In all, 5 different species of EMD variants with 2 railroads in one shot. If that doesn't help illustrate the allure of railroads in the Dakotas, nothing will.

Probably not, according to information online. Most likely these are two juvenile Northern Harriers. They did not show aggression towards each other and seemed to be hunting together, but it may be that one was ready to try to steal a meal if the other was successful.
However dragonflies, like this Four Spotted Pennant, don't exactly understand, or care, much about cooperation when it comes to photography.
Having gotten mostly rear end shots during recent outings, I finally managed to find this fellow, who was fairly cooperative and provided his profile long enough to grab a few shots.
Seen at a nearby arboretum.

For the last six months I have been working on photo, story telling project at sawmill down the road from me. The sawmill takes in tree trunks from many tree species and cuts them up into various widths of boards and beams. It is a expansive, well run operation. I have made over 800 keeper images and those will be edited down to about 100 for a book!
The owners and workers have welcomed me and given me their full cooperation.

So cool to see my friends working so well together. I also liked the flying sparks of course. Sylvie (the cat) and I watched them work from behind the tree.
This is my phantom...my depression, my anguish...my other. The proverbial monkey on my back. Always haunting me...always taunting me. As much as I love shadow play and seeking light to draw out the lengthy darkness, there is always the notion that just underneath it all is the pain. And every now and again, he pops up to remind me that he is always near. For years now I have been the casual observer of scenes like this street image, but lately I have been noticing how much I need to put this figure into them. How compelled I am to look for him.
After seven years of sobriety, I am constantly challenged to discover the reasons for what it is I do. And lately, I am looking harder than ever before.

Canaima National Park is a 30,000 km2 (12,000 sq mi) park in south-eastern Venezuela that roughly occupies the same area as the Gran Sabana region. It is located in Bolívar State, reaching the borders with Brazil and Guyana. The park was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Canaima National Park was established on 12 June 1962. As early as 1990, the countries that participate in the Amazonian Cooperation Treaty had recommended expanding the Canaima National Park southward to connect it with Monte Roraima National Park in Brazil, with coordinated management of tourism, research and conservation.
In 1994, the Canaima National Park was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The International Union for Conservation of Nature performed a conservation assessment in 2017, which listed Canaima National Park as an area of significant concern, citing ineffective protection and management.

Black Coffee 77.365
Poznan, Poland
5 am. Its early and still pitch black outside. The house is cold and quiet as I wake up before my alarm and head to the kitchen to start the day with the soft sound of cat paws following close to me. I cherish this time in the morning when I make a pot of coffee and wait for it to brew, allowing the aroma of freshly brewing coffee to wash over me as my cat Louis looks at me with his own anticipation of morning pets. Our ritual is one of together. 10 minutes of peace is how each morning starts, a gift to myself , giving me a little meditation and focus for the busy day ahead. It isn’t much, 10 minutes, but the difference they make through the rest of the day is obvious to me and linger in little pieces that return to surprise me now and again. Selfishly, I think I will take an additional 5 and enjoy a second cup before allowing the day to sweep my away.
I also write on occasion at Medium and you can find me there are well.

The Sacro Monte is located in a charming landscape, on a promontory overlooking Lake Orta. A sequence of twenty chapels surrounded by nature illustrates some episodes of the life of St. Francis, with sculptures and paintings. The chapels are distributed along a route that runs along the hilltop, offering spectacular views on the lake and on San Giulio Island.
The first idea for a Sacro Monte in Orta dates back to 1583, modelled after the religious itinerary of the Sacro Monte of Varallo. It only became reality in 1590, thanks to the contribution of Abbot Amico Canobio from Novara, and according to the project of Capuchin architect Cleto from Castelletto Ticino. From 1593 to 1615, Bishop Carlo Bascapé of Novara became the main actor of the building process, setting an indelible stamp on the Sacro Monte. He established the sequence of mysteries to be built inside the chapels, he defined the architecture of the complex, in close cooperation with Cleto, and he invited renowned artists to work in Orta.
Statues and paintings create scenes of deep realism: the intimate and natural atmospheres typical of early seventeenth-century Lombard art are combined with the lively theatrical Baroque style of the end of the century. Among the artists that worked at the Sacro Monte of Orta, we can remember the Fiammenghinis, Morazzone, Cristoforo Prestinari, the d’Enricos, Dionigi Bussola and the Nuvolone brothers.
The route ends at the Church of San Nicolao, a proto-Romanesque building, completely redesigned during the seventeenth century to recreate the spaces of the lower Basilica of Assisi. The Church houses an ancient group of wooden statues representing Our Lady of Mercy (XIV century).
The beauty of the landscape, its silence and harmonious balance between art, architecture and nature mirror the essence of Franciscan spirituality.

R192's power would back onto the remainder of the train once the Canton was clear and continue to Philadelphia.
The 1201 was built in 1954 for the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul and Pacific railroad.

Now, for our leaders / it doesn't take that much / to arrive at real cooperation / just a reduction of your Ego.

Cooperation between a father to his daughter... between a mother and her son.
