Seneca, South Carolina is not normally where one expects to see a pair of huge bronze statues of long ago soldiers next to a loading zone behind a strip mall! Greek? Roman? Trojans? I have no idea which army they represent, who made them, or why they’re guarding the loading zone.

I have always been very conflicted on what it is I want to put on my Flickr, exactly. I don't want it to be some sort of folder full of all the pictures I like, pictures that I'm satisfied with and I feel are fine to show to the world.
The other day, I realized that I want my Flickr to only be the pictures that I'm proud of - pictures that make me remember happy times and pictures that put me right back to the scene, to the feelings, to the memories. Pictures that bring me warmth and joy and nostalgia, pictures that I will never stop loving.
So here's the first week of a year-long sharing project, I hope you all enjoy this (different) kind of 52 week project, made from the past and the present of my photography.
This picture was taken at the end of my 8th grade year and near the beginning of my first year of high school - quite a time full of excitement, fear, and confusion about where life was headed. Madi, who is pictured, was a friend of mine that I had just met on Instagram about 3 months prior, and we finally decided to go take some pictures of our own. She told me she had a good place in mind and took me to this field - a field that I will never forget.
Absolutely covered in little purple flowers, looking over the horizon, this field is home to some of my favorite photos and memories - laughing and snapping and running around till the sun disappeared.
This picture embodies everything about that day - I don't think the sun has ever been so warm, so bright, so orange, so effervescent, and this picture makes me remember the feeling of that sun, the feeling of being in this field. There's nothing like it.

Its difficult to say something about this photo. Difficult to describe anything. If you are aware of the history of DR Congo then you already know about it.
For me, it was a rare opportunity to witness and experience such incident. I was standing about a meter back from this fire and was seeing what they were doing. I dont know much about the reasons of their fury upon UN (More specially MONUSCO) but i understood, they aren't happy with what UN doing here. I dont know how long this will take to bring peace over here. All i know is, this isnt the way to bring peace here. Neither the guns nor the stones and bricks are the solution of this crisis.
Whatever it takes, we all want it to end. We want peace.
blurry , manual lenses are hard to focus wide open. Snap's a moment in time and no chance to try again. The conflict was so short and all ended up fine. Nobody got harmed.

The lion (Panthera leo) is a species in the cat family (Felidae). The lion is sexually dimorphic; males are larger than females with a typical weight range of 150 to 250 kg (331 to 551 lb) for the former and 120 to 182 kg (265 to 401 lb) for the latter. Male lions have a prominent mane, which is the most recognizable feature of the species.
A lion pride consists of a few adult males, related females and cubs. Groups of female lions typically hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates. The species is an apex and keystone predator, although they scavenge when opportunities occur.
Typically, the lion inhabits grasslands and savannas but is absent in dense forests. It is usually more diurnal than other big cats, but when persecuted it adapts to being active at night and at twilight.
It has been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1996 because populations in African countries have declined by about 43% since the early 1990s. Habitat loss and conflicts with humans are the greatest causes for concern. – Wikipedia
Tension is running high and batteries low. The conFLIcT begins to dissipate as the two literally run out of steam. Something has to give, in the time required to recharge their systems they have a long overdue conversation with themself.
Turns out Dark Flit was always jealous of the attention given to her sister. Each F.L.I.T unit was programmed for separate purposes in their own universe.
The Original F.L.I.T as we've come to love was developed for public relations, negotiation and to aid humanity when needed. Equipt with feeling sensory, emotional responsiveness and a full head of flowing hair she was always fauned over and treated with kindness.
Where the other sister was created for deep space and months of isolation, she lacked compassion and only focused on logical solution with no care for the repercussion of her own actions.

Street and reportage photography from Glasgow, Scotland. The March Against Racism rally in the city was joined by, what I understand to be, an unsanctioned Pro-Palestine rally. Tensions boiled when a Pro-Israeli demonstration turned up. After a short sit-down protest in the middle of the street, the two groups were carefully separated by the massive police presence in town.
If one looks close, you can see that the flying goldfinch has a hold on the other goldfinch's beak. Forty of these little buggers sure can chow down a lot of Nyjer seed!!

Valley Green Motel located at 379 West St. in Keene,NH. This motel has been the center of attention for many years. The owner has moved to India and without his permission the site cannot be razed. The town of Keene,NH has been debating whether or not they should just move forward with the demolition despite facing a potential conflict with its owner. The motel for the most part is made up of drug dealers and one night stands which seem to result in domestic disputes. Recently the police responded to a man biting the arm and face of a woman because of a simple disagreement. Interestingly the motel used to have an adjoing restaurant under the name Valley Green Restaurant and Coffee Shop. Since the closure of the restaurant all seems to have gone downhill. The restaurant later housed a shoe store and then a liquor store. Currently the building is occupied by a Benjamin Moore Paint Store which has tried to spruce of the site and seems to be doing a fairly good business.
As conflict arises within Eurasia, NATO operatives attempt to take the opportunity to extract out key individuals, with little success.

Eternal Conflict: Angels & Demons
Eskiyurt itself was a vibrant and beautiful little town. With the coming of the great evil, the War of Sacrilege, the lush outskirts of the village masked the true horror that had befallen the now decimated village. If not for the stench that filled the air, you could be forgiven for being woefully unaware of the brutal massacre that had taken place not too far away.
Sometimes I wonder, if the sea is bottomless, and full of endless possibilities. When do we get tired of it. How many hours do we stare out over the ocean and fall in love with it, every time? Still, it's full of contradictions. Waves and tides. Stream of fresh meets stream of salt. Hot against cold. I though about this when this shot was developed. It's and army against the navy. There's always a settlement.
A colourful Halloween Tribute for the 31st Oct 2024
The juxtaposition of dominant reds with intense blues and biting yellows is not merely a chromatic exercise but an intentional invocation of in depth physical dynamics.
The red, historically emblematic of revolutionary zeal, is here transmuted into an image of territorial encroachment, symbolizing the blood of land workers who toiled here in harsh conditions.
The compositional tension between this red and the contrasting yellow and blue functions as a visual dialectic, evoking the material conflicts of occupation and sovereignty that are as much corporeal as they are ideological.

The title for this image is somewhat tongue in cheek, but because I call Maui and Bend, Oregon home - it makes me smile when I see views like this here in Bend. If you were blindfolded and suddenly opened your eyes to this pristine sandy beach and these crystal clear turquoise waters you'd absolutely be convinced that you were in Hawaii. At least until the incredible snowcapped Diamond Peak glacier on the horizon registered with your brain. Crescent Lake here in Central Oregon is without question the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. So far.
