A much delayed third trip out to see the Foxes. The weather was forecast to be heavy rain, but it didn't happen. The grassland had turned straw coloured.
This is one of the more confident Foxes walking through the grass straight towards my position. It got within 15 meters before disappearing off to the right.

Confident I had enough photos of the wild horses along the Salt River, I went back to the giant Saguaro cactus with the Gila Woodpeckers, hoping for more up-close and personal images with the big glass. This bird was sitting on top of their Saguaro. I'm reasonably confident (but welcome correction) it is a Curve-billed Thrasher, and I'll pin it down more as belonging to the Sonoran population. That makes it a lifer for me.

Most of time Guanacos are shy because they are hunted. This one was surprisingly confident, like smily.
A confident glance from a small Bulbul Pycnonotus capensis, its feathers still damp after a refreshing bath. Though small and delicate, this bird knows that beauty lies not in size, but in the courage to be authentic. With wide eyes and a cheeky expression, it seems to say, "I’ve seen you, I may be small, but I’m clever!
Well it would appear that one person believes this arm wrestling contest was a foregone conclusion. What he didn't bank on was the stamp on the foot he was about to receive.
Got to love the Model Market in Lewisham. An abandoned Victorian Market which comes alive in the Spring and Summer with great music and street food. A brilliant hang out spot in London.
This healthy looking male seemed so confident. I sat and watched him for a while, but later realized I was the one being observed. He kept his eye on the other birds and bugs close to him, while (perhaps) hoping I would provide a snack. However, I have a strict rule about never giving human food to wild animals.

I feel like something is...off with the world. I do not feel overly confident in my ability to describe adequately what I mean, though. It feels like...like when a spinning top is spun and you tap the side - that way it wobbles - it feels like that: like things are not quite right. And for somebody who does not believe in things feeling such a way, it is even harder to describe.
It is odd at the moment. Whilst there are the usual berries on the bushes, and some of the trees have turned orange and lost their leaves, the majority have remained green and held fast to their leaves. The day was fine, if slightly cooler, but if anyone were to have told me it was Spring I would probably have believed them. There were even buds on some of the trees that do not usually have buds at this time of year. In places, it is like Autumn has not arrived at all.

This young red-tailed hawk is a very popular attraction at Fernhill these days. I went out in hopes of seeing it, and was rewarded with a perch not far from me. A small crowd of photographers gathered around the base of its perch to take pictures, but with the long lens, I had to back away. After posing for them for awhile, it took off toward me, and landed on the perch right next to me. Again I backed away to get this full shot! Just unfortunate that it was against the sky.
