One of my son's two cats, Niles. This cat has an absolute compulsion to go to a certain spot in the wall of our front bathroom. In the corner. He will sit and meaow outside the bathroom door to be let in. I let him in, he walks straight to that one spot and sits there for ages and just stare at it. I always say he is worshipping The Little Cat God in the Wall:-))) Probably an ant nest in the wall, or somesuch.

I had seen "What's in Bloom at Ruth Bancroft Garden" for July 2022 and of the 22 flowers that were listed, I had photographed all but one last July. It's hot and muggy today, and I have more excuses not to do something than a compulsion to do something ... so ... maybe there were a few flowers that don't bloom the whole month and aren't in the newsletter or video. Besides, maybe I could improve on what I did take last year.
Well, there were two new ones, one that I can't ID and one that's has three five-inch red and orange flowers grouped together. I only managed two when I looked to my right, and there was an Anna's hummingbird sitting on a leaf of an agave. And he stayed. Before I knew it, I had 24 photos, and I knew that some had to be in focus, and one where he turned just so that his gorget lit. Not the whole gorget, but I'm happy.
I have been so busy in RL with a lot of things, and this newest Covid-19 is scary. Its so much less scary knowing I can come to a place like Second Life and feel like it is home. I haven't been able to post in a couple of weeks because of these ongoing issues but I am so happy to be able to post this lovely home The Woodford by a new sponsor Onsu My perfect place to live is amongst other amazing Onsu homes, deep in the heart of Gooseberry

This shot was based on a compulsion I had to recreate a shot which I had taken when I first started photography. But this time, with a twist.
As part of the Dark City Deutschland series, exploring the darker corners of Berlin when the Sun goes down and a whole new environment arises in the shadows.
These two street lamps barely illuminated the wall which was covered in graffiti, the area was very shadowy and poorly lit which fit well into the series. It reminded of a photo I saw years ago of an isolated street lamp shining its dimly lit beam onto a brick wall and the street below, I somewhat have had a compulsion to recreate it in my own way and I think here I got pretty close.

The top floor fills with shadows of palm trees and gentle beams that bounce off the flakes of dust rising from abandoned floors and dusted furniture. Grandeur’s of memories of elegance that once was. Highlighted flakes of dust waiting to settle for the night, when the memories come to life and elegance lives again; as the haunted music of crashing waves and flamingo chirps and squawks fill the halls. Outside the peacocks watch guard over the gardens that once were and the flamingos who wonder the isolated grounds.
