I noticed from where I sit, my view and attention to my community doesn't stray much even in a free and expressive environment such as Elkin's class. Even so, I chose this photo because it was the most interesting, and even outside of the image, 3rd period with all my friends and time to work on everything that matters to me makes up a large meaningful part of my life. I chose to decrease the brightness and make subtle changes in the amount of red and yellow to correct some graininess in the people's clothing and hair, and the different objects on the desk.
Granny can't afford cooking gas, so she cuts firewood all year and splits kindling each evening before going to bed. This is her entire kitchen.
Community Day was the culmination of BAMPFA's Grand Opening Week. The museum doors were thrown open for twelve hours to mark this historic occasion. Visitors got a first look at our inaugural exhibition, Architecture of Life. A good start of the week..
They began with circle time reviewing what they learned last week. They had great fun helping the community by being Transport Managers, road construction engineers and some as drivers.
They enjoyed learning how to write. Numeracy of today was focused with Pizza Maths and finally feeding the hungry penguin with number fish.
They also sorted colors with pom pom and sang a song on shapes, made a Taxi for Arts and Craft and phonic p for penguin. Their fine motor skills were put to work.
The week started with full swing and awaiting for much more this week.

The first wave of "Charge Up!" new student orientations for Fall 2014 began today at the Main Campus in Galesburg. Students toured the campus, went through "Tech Check" where they logged into the mySANDBURG student portal, and had an opportunity to get the rundown on all the exciting things coming up for this school year.

Oscar Romo led a six month series of Leadership and Right to Know Government Workshops funded by the Ford Foundation
Midfielder Gabe Streit, a junior at Carbondale Community High School, goes for the ball Monday during an indoor soccer match at Sports Blast. Streit's team is led by Mike Cannell, CCHS soccer coach, and consists of five other students who play on the high school soccer team. The team plays for a co-ed fall indoor soccer league at Sports Blast. The season started in mid-November and lasts until next week, with seven teams total that play Mondays and Wednesdays. "We want the girl players to get active before their season starts in spring," Cannell said, "And give the guys an extra month to play." Edyta Blaszczyk | Daily Egyptian
First autumn gather to bring home the lambs and count number of ewes per share. Lambs are held communally and shared out at this time. Hill rams were also brought in-bye until tupping time.
