This is the place from where I contact the world via my Flickr account. My photos, and my interminable musings that go with them are all pounded out on this keyboard, in this chair... My typing skills are limited, for the same reasons that I am incapable of mastering a musical instrument - whatever that is... I think there's some missing gene - the one that causes "muscle memory" - where your muscles learn a pattern and repeat motions over and over the same way. That's manifested in so many ways - for instance... My signature is never the same twice in a row - every time I write it, it's like a new day, even if it's seconds later. When we sign papers on houses, it ties me up in knots, trying to simply write my initials over and over. I guess the randomizer in my head runs out of different variations, and just locks up...
It's embarrassing.

In July 2016, London College of Communication held a Summer School course in Speculative and Critical Design.
The course was taken by Ben Stopher, LCC Programme Director for Interactive and Visual Communication, and Tobias Revell, Course Leader of BA (Hons) Information and Interface Design and Course Tutor on BA (Hons) Interaction Design Arts.
The first week was structured around a series of workshops and mini-projects to introduce core concepts and skills around speculative and critical design. For the second week, the group was set a brief to which they then developed a response.

Non Verbal communication within normal life or within animation and acting can be expressed in a number of ways.
The principles of animation can be applied here, to see some subtly hinting that the person may have a certain unpleasant smell to them, is a form of communication, to have a stand back type of look, not wanting to make physical contact is again a way of non verbal communication. From the image above there is a number of hints to show that the person on the left is trying to communicate something to the camera man. With his crossed hands, his unhappy face, his eyes which can tell a story them self’s. From his combination of non verbal communication he would rather sit somewhere else.
Nonverbal communication has been an art that over the years has been perfected by artist and movie writers around the world.
FromThe days of movies without sound, where all that the director had to work with was black and white silent performances.
To complicated new age performances where there is so much that can take away from acting, like colour, sounds and numerous props.

Boston University is one of four universities I attended for various lengths of time back in the Sixties. At one point I was even enrolled here, in what used to be called BU's School of Public Relations and Communications, or SPRC.
One day they changed the name to the School of Public Communication (SPC), and now they've changed it again, to the College of Communication (COM). Maybe there were other names along the way. Must be a fun time when they have a reunion or something and people who went to the same school walk around with names tags variously labeled COM, SPC, and SPRC -- especially these days when "SPRC" stands for BU's Suicide Prevention Resource Center.

Amazing when you think that this "old school" technology still runs along side the railroad tracks . And now the communication is carried by fibre-optics.
