The cub on the left was very comfortable, and was reassuring the cub on the right, who was nervous. They had been left behind on a fallen tree, while the pride was off hunting (South Luangwa, Zambia)

This shoot with Dinara was a little problematic. It was a cold day, and it got colder as the shooting went on. As it was a sunday, many places were closed, so we had to make the shooting outdoor. That was not so pleasant for the model, and noticing that fact gave me frustation. Dinara is a " deadpan" model, it is not easy to understand how she feels, she did not show much emotion, or at least not much as I have expected. It was only AFTER the shoot when I try to select and edit the images, where I realized that she was a deadpan model and her emotions were exactly how it should be- her soft and tender way of emotions was not something I have realized during the shoot.
Absolutely nothing BETTER, than kicking your heels to the corner and having delicious comfort food... and maybe a RomCom.

Still under the weather but since having the "man flu" doesn't get me any sympathy, I was persuaded to go for a drive after the rain stopped today. We did find some nice light here and there, which really brightened up the remaining fall colors. For this shot, I used a Singh Ray warming polarizer to minimize reflections and warm up the colors a bit.
As it turned out, we had a really nice afternoon and later I was comforted with a crusty sour dough bread, basil pesto dipping oil, a favorite Niagara Gold cheese, and a glass of Megalomaniac red wine. The latter was purely for medicinal purposes.
Comfort is having lots of brothers and sisters to keep you safe. A Flickr Friday submission on the topic "Comfort".

A dilapidated pick-up has a long standing appointment for shelter with an equally old farm building that provides false comfort. Those of us who are old often find paradoxical comfort in peers that are no longer strong either.
Even though this was not my home, I loved it here. Some days I long for the comfort of no windows, a fresh breeze, and pure abandonment.

A large flock of birds is using this deserted barn as a landing strip as they excitedly shriek about the coming changes in Minnesota on a fall morning. Growing up on the farm I never realized until I was older how I rarely felt alone. There was always some animals or birds around making noise and giving our place a sense of life. The beeping of phones, tablets and computers today are not nearly as satisfying.

There are a few places I really love in my home, this is one of them. It's the corner in the master bedroom. At this time of year the sun is low in the sky and it comes streaming in, which I find most comforting on a chilly day!
