Standing at my back door one day, I watched the baby squirrel on the ground while Mom stood guard from above. The little one became frightened and ran up to where mom was waiting. She hugged and comforted her baby in such a loving way. The affection and interaction was so heartwarming.

We called this "gascomfort" in the Netherlands when I was young. Not that I'm old now.
This was a gift from my parents when I started my own household 43 years ago.
Wij noemden dit "gascomfort" in Nederland, toen ik jong was. Niet dat ik nu oud ben.
Dit was een geschenk van mijn ouders toen ik 43 jaar geleden een eigen huishouden ging stichten
Surrounded by love ,comfort and protection of her family and rabbit friend baby reptilian shapeshifter finally gave in and rested before sleeping Thru the night. Tiny terror gets exhausted chasing her elderly siblings, leaves and never ending rock collecting and trouble making. She never cheats us on laughs and entertainment and is the quirkiest little dog ever.

These wild sea lions were sleeping on a dock in the harbor of Crescent City, California. It was so touching how they would snuggle up and use each other as pillows.
Every once in a while, a new sea lion arrived on the dock and there would be a big commotion with snarling and growling and apparent disagreements - but 30 seconds later they would all be piled up in a harmonious heap like this!

Snow-filled benches seen on my sub-zero last day of Autumn walk to Waterfront and Bewicke Parks via The Spirit Trail.
These wintry scenes are now a thing of the past since our temperatures have now warmed up to +12C and the recent rains have all but washed away all the snow in low lying coastal areas of North Vancouver. The wonders of Nature never cease to amaze me.
