Rumblemumbles came for dinner last night and as usual, couldn't contain her enthusiasm when I wanted her to just hold these red berries up for a shot.
Nice to see she was colour co-ordinated too.
Edit: Forgot to mention the berries are a decoration and not real.

West Midlands Hedgehog Rescue Open Day 2016.
Every year the local community of Cheslyn Hay and the wider Staffordshire and West Midlands area come together at The White Horse, Cheslyn Hay. Appeals go out in advance for donations of handmade items to sell to raise funds to keep the rescue going, and they never disappoint. A wonderful family fun afternoon in aid of a great cause.

They Come!
Creatures of light, from the darkness of the night!
Fraisthorpe Beach, East Yorkshire coast. About 2 am.
Approx 15 min exposure, f/8. Played around with a red gelled LED inspection light and a green gelled LED torch. Then some work with a hand held halogen spot light torch to light up the rocks and some of the sand.
It was tricky to do on my own, trying to guess where to stand each time. Would've been easier if there had been someone to direct.
PAD09 peeps, just playing catchup as this was from a couple of months ago.
This weekend I attended an event hosted by the David Lynch Foundation (visit dlf.tv) located at the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa. The generosity that comes out of this man is unparalleled. His vision is simple: Let's make a better world.
Thank you David Lynch for your words and infinite inspiration.
Now let's go fishing.

Finn and Ayala are fast friends.
Meet my new little faun, Ayala! Ayala means doe, gazelle, hind in Hebrew. She's too cute for words. She's my first pre-loved doll. Her previous owner pierced her ears so I need to find tiny hoops to go with her new style more.

Advantage of working with another photographer: you end up getting pushed into taking better photos.
Laura and I had both been shooting Katie for a good few minutes, when Laura had herself a brainwave, positioned Katie just right and started shooting away. We both knew these were gonna be some awesome shots, you can just tell, knowing how good Laura is, knowing how the poses are gonna look because we know how she shoots, how Katie looks under certain circumstances.
Sometimes you can just see the pictures ahead of time.
And they were gonna be oh so nice.
Damn her!
I was well into a calm groove that day, nothing special, just enjoying the park, all the various places we could shoot there, the great grey weather.
But after that, I started looking around, just a wee bit frantically, looking for inspiration.
Because now I had to come away with something special.
And that is a great place to be, with my mind actually working on the "problem".
This shot...oh man, it's early, so forgive me, this shot was my Solution.
I crack myself up.

I have come to the end of recent photos so I return to my covid series. Vaccination has helped the UK return to an air of some sort of normality even if the effects of Brexit and shortages leave the future uncertain - more importantly, covid cases are amongst the highest in Europe. Life is a bit like the wind having been blowing strongly in one direction (neo-liberal economics) only for it to have dropped and sails flap idly while the ship of state scratches its head in the face of climate change and a sense of being marooned. Chairmanship of COP26 reminded one of the UK's duplicity as it wants to dig for coal and extract oil.
...Dreams Come True
I felt this was an appropriate upload for Disneyland's birthday.
My first successful Disneyland fireworks shot! It involved some trial and error, mostly to do with underestimating the size of the bursts and forgetting my ND filter, but I think I managed to capture the intro to the Star Tours segment fairly well.
Due to a misreading in our planning and some unlucky weather we missed seeing this show on our April trip last year, which really bummed me out because I'd heard great things. So when we decided to visit again this April I made sure we had as many opportunities to see the show so we wouldn't miss it.
Honestly, I was pretty blown away by it. I didn't realise quite how immersive the show was by incorporating the 360 fireworks and other elements, as none of the YouTube videos I'd watched of the show captured these elements. It was well worth the year wait!
