Z127 is notched out and lugging up hill towards Newark, about to pass under Baldwin road on the south side of Grand Blanc.
As I cycle further up Glen Lochsie before making the real climb to the summit of Glas Tulaichean, this small burn (or stream) tumbles its way through the heather. But time is ticking and in these winter months daylight hours are limited so let's push on.
Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. The mountain stands at 1051 meters (3448 feet) and is the last one I will do as I have now moved away from Scotland and back to my roots in South Yorkshire as the pull of the Grandchildren was just too strong.
Another rose growing in my garden, this one is the climbing version of Iceberg. It is much more slow in growth than Rambling Rector and is generally well behaved although it is susceptible to black spot. It is growing over an arch and along a fence.

A westbound Union Pacific coal train (with three SP AC4400CWs mixed in for good measure) climbs through Clay, Colorado, on April 27, 2001. Below, two rear DPU locomotives push in the slack as they climb toward Big 10 Curve—and below that—a small herd of cattle are much more interested in the sprouting spring grass than the train.

A vertiginous climb up to a small cave. Just when I was feeling proud having made it--with dust on all appendages and a scraped knee--three Mennonite ladies in unscathed long dresses arrived! I would have loved to have photographed them but I don't think they would have relished the attention.

The 750mm gauge Schönheide Museum Railway is located in the Western Ore Mountains between Aue and Plauen in the Vogtland. The stretch of line in use today, between Schönheide and Stützengrün along the foot of Kuhberg and Fuchsstein mountains, is the remaining section of what was the longest and steepest narrow gauge railway in Saxony, originally stretching between Wilkau-Haßlau near Zwickau to Carlsfeld via Kirchberg, Rothenkirchen, Stützengrün and Schönheide through the Eastern Vogtland and Western Ore Mountains. In 1977, the last section of the line was closed, but in 1991 the Museumsbahn Schönheide railway association was formed and members subsequently rebuilt the 4km stretch between Stützengrün and Schönheide. Three Meyer 'IV K' Class 0-4-4-0 tanks are maintained at Schönheide depot, 99 516, 99 582 and 99 585. On 12th February 2023, the oldest Saxon-Meyer surviving, 99 516 built in 1892, climbs out of the mist into Schönheide.
