An unidentified Class 33 stands in an engineering possession on the down line at Rochester.

The up line track has been removed and the Class 33 is standing on the down line. This photograph was taken from a London bound train passing through the down freight loop during single line working between Gillingham and Strood.

31417 at Ipswich with the 2255 from Norwich on 20 September 1987, one of my dodgy hand held night shots. If I remember rightly 2255 Norwich to Ipswich was a Sunday night train booked class 31 in summer 1987, and we were getting it in just before it finished. With thanks to GerardTCC for positioning the Tank at Ipswich earlier in the day ready for a fast getaway.
