Lake Merced, San Francisco, Apr 2011
When we were driving home from SF on 19th ave last night, the fog was already quite thick. I immediately thought of this location, which I've been waiting to shoot for quite some time but was waiting for the right conditions. And as expected, this morning the fog was deliciously thick around the lake.

The titel of the book for which I had the honor to design it and make the covershot. This is the cover. But on the book it wil be swopt so the more 'clearer' side is on the front. It is taken in The Leersumse veld in the nertherlands. If you are curious about the book you can take a quick look at my blog.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my earlier uploads.
“I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream”
~Vincent van Gogh
I highly recommend a macro lens for those seeking ways to reduce stress. I should get it out more often. =)

What Dreams May Come
I await every night for what dreams may come,
And bestow their wonders and gifts on me.
In the land of dreams, there are no frowns,
And once again, I'm young and free.
In my dreams, we are together in a wonderland,
where anything you can ever want is possible.
We would hold hands as we roam and discover
all the places and things that are wonderful.
I smile every night for what dreams may come..
For we are together and no one can tear us apart.
No matter what they do or what they say,
You will always be in my heart.
This is what they mean when they report an "absence of air pollution"!! San Francisco, seen from the East Bay waterfront walking trail.
In explore!!
Bokeh at F4.0 with a 50mm lens!! Very bright here in the great big windows of Mercedes world. Every one else was shooting the expensive gleaming metal but I discovered these ;-)
To achieve a state of zen is to drop the illusion and see things without distortion created by our own thoughts. I must continue to strive for that.
Good morning everyone. Just two quick pics of Red-shouldered Hawks (Buteo lineatus). The one on the left being a juvenile I photographed back in mid October and posted a few pics around the same time.
The one on the right is a mature adult that I photographed a few days ago. Not sure why it was on the ground at the time, but my guess is it missed an opportunity to catch some prey. Most likely a chipmunk.
I posted both pics for better viewing in the comment section and my stream. The the bird on the left was much closer at the time I photographed it and as a result is a much better pic as far as clarity. The one of the adult bird was taken at a much greater distance and with less available light due to a heavy overcast. As a result it's not as clear and sharp as the pic of the juvenile due to a higher ISO and more cropping.
Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you're having a truly nice week.

"Clarity:" . . . finally, as the day came to an end, the wind died down enough for me to capture the reflections I have been wanting for so long. Backstory: I have tried to capture so many sunsets this year, but most every one seemed to lack reflections due to unrelenting wind that made the water choppy. I really had to think on the fly, as the clouds initially seemed to indicate a much more colorful sunset was in the works. When I realized that wasn't happening, I had to change up my location and composition to one that emphasized more of the rocks and water. Also having less wind meant that the little delicate plant on the bottom right didn't blur. Sometimes it's all about the little details.
