A crystal beads suspended chair, receiving and reflecting a burst of light.
My compo to show this swing chair in its contest (to the right) and a close-up of the same chair, showing its intervowen structure with crystal faceted beads and a shape that is continuously changing via some almost invisible yarns connected to a silent engine.
To the far right, coloured blowed glass bells and spheres complete the display.
And all this to show how lighting or, as we say, Illuminotecnica, can determine the ambiance of a space, the mood and let things appear as they have an inner light. The reflective surface of cut crystals can provoke a burst of intense and yet concentrated illumination by means of invisible deemed little lights.
It was very crowded here and many people standing in front or aside the swing to take photos or selfies. This has been the less crowded moment... A photographer is though visible sitting on the yellow couch, partially hidden by the beads laces, exalted by his dark clothes ;-)
In the centre of the photo background, two persons relaxing in a nearby lounge, partially separated by dark curtains.
I wanted to chop them off my compo but then I remembered that friend Joachim asserts: "Leave the people on your photo, it gives more dynamicity and sense of reality". So I left them, and probably he is right, vielend Dank lieber Joachim !

The Eiffel Tower really is a beacon in the night. |<
Taken a little later than the "La Ville-Lumière" photo. Again, no HDR or special filters used. I purposely did not expose this as long as I did for the other night shot, and didn't get the spread of light across the sky--just so I can use this dumb title. Happy NOkeh Wednesday!

As the sun sets in the Romantic City of Paris, you would expect the number of tourist to recede. That is not exactly the case. At night, the Eiffel tower offers a different kind of experience compared to daytime. You can enjoy cool evening breezes from the observation deck of the Eiffel Tower overlooking the streets of Paris and have an overview of floodlit bridges, churches and other landmarks in the glittering Parisian lightscape. An added bonus is that the lines are much shorter in the evening than in the morning or afternoon. You still need to queue though.
But if you are going for the lights, head up to the Trocardero, which is opposite the Eiffel Tower across the Seine, to get the best view when the Tower 'sparkle'. The flashing lights operate briefly for about 5 minutes every hour.
There are a lot of other activities to do at night. For the young ones, there is an antique carousel that you can ride near the vicinity of the Tower. You can also enjoy a cone or two of ice cream while waiting for the hourly sparkle or enjoy a romantic evening stroll down the Seine. The only thing that might bother or irritate you are the vendors with their gimmicky toys and miniature Eiffel tower goods. Just ignore them but if you're looking for a good bargain for souvenirs to bring back home for friends and family, try negotiating and be persistent and you might be surprised by the amount of key-rings you could get by just forking couple of euros. It can be way cheaper than the souvenirs sold in proper souvenir shops.
This former lesbian cabaret of Pigalle created in 1936 is now a chic cabaret which is also a kind of club and night bar where the Parisian young people come to flirt until the dawn. The bonus of this night place : its Art Déco decoration and its musical programming (funky, rock, disco and electro). For a time, Edith Piaf was one of the most famous customers of the club…
Opened from Wednesday until Saturday, from 11pm until the dawn.

Paris, the City of Lights, is certainly a place for romance and the under Eiffel Tower is the perfect place for a couple's embrace. It was quite cold when I caught this shot, so everyone was bundled up on this November night!

The Palazzo (also called The Palazzo at The Venetian) is a luxury hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The Palazzo is part of a larger complex (operated as one hotel) comprising the adjoining Venetian resort and Venetian Expo, all of which makes this complex rank as the second largest hotel in the world. It was developed by Las Vegas Sands as a sister property to its Venetian resort, opened in 1999. Construction on the Palazzo began in September 2004, and the resort began a phased opening on December 30, 2007. The $1.9 billion property features an Italian theme, and includes a 105,000 sq ft casino, 3,066 suites in a 50-story tower, the 875,000 sq ft Grand Canal Shoppes, and an 1,800-seat performance theater. The resort was designed as a green building by HKS Architects. In 2008, it earned Silver LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, becoming the largest LEED-certified building in the world.
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

The Iron Lady is a nickname for the Eiffel Tower - symbolizing strength and elegance... she has definitely dazzled her visitors from around the world since 1889.
It was really a thrill to actually be there and see the Eiffel Tower - I still remember that feeling - I didn't want to leave and took this shot looking through a fence as we were walking back to our b&b.
May there be a little sparkle in your Sunday ✨
and Bonne Fête Nationale !
View of the Eiffel Tower, in Paris, France. The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars. It was named after the engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it was initially criticized by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest structure in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; 6.98 million people ascended it in 2011. The tower received its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.
