Cash for last year's AdSense revenue. I'm so lucky to get my cash back before government blocks my website.
Playing around with some macro shots. Really liked this one of a money clip of bills. The tones came out wonderfully and helped set the softness and mood for the photo that I was aiming for. Hope you enjoy

This older Maxima qualified as a cash for clunker. Since its sitting at a Nissan dealership, it was probably traded up for a new Nissan Altima, which has a 4-Cyl & is the same size as this. Probably qualified for the full $4500, or at least $3500 which is more than this car's probably worth now.....

Cool Johnny Cash mural on the side of a building in downtown Austin on Rio Grande just below 6th Street.
Listen: HURT
This song was originally by Nine-Inch Nails, but Johnny Cash recorded this and absolutely made it is own. It's powerful, poignant and unforgettable.
The accompanying video to the song is particularly moving and poignant, especially as it shows footage of his beloved wife, June, who passed away a few months prior. And Cash suddenly looks very old and frail.
A masterpiece.
Hurt
(Originally by Nine-Inch Nails)
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
[Chorus:]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here
[Chorus:]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Taken for A Moment in Time, a great photo project from the New York Times on May 2 2010.

This sad dog has been my best friend for the past couple of years.
He left on friday. I'll never see him again.
I sworn to never even think about him...
I suppose this makes me a masoquist.

For some reason there is a coin cash shortage in the U.S. Many stores when you now use the self checkout only allow you to use a credit card or check. Recent I looked at my pile of coins and felt guilty :-) Yes, I am trying to be better and use coins when paying for stuff.

I got a new dog this weekend! His name's Cash (after the Man in Black, of course), and he's half German shepherd, and half Alaskan malamute/black lab mix. He's unbelievably awesome and has only peed inside twice! :) He's a phenomenal napper - passes out if you set him down anywhere - and cries if I go too far out of sight... adorable!
Oh - and I was painting this weekend and got into a war, and clearly, I was not the winner. It was actually industrial primer, so I'm still picking it out hair and off of my skin... it was a fun weekend!
