(No, it's not THAT giftset, though I would KILL for it!)

'Francie's Fun Friend' finally made it to the Lively Livin' house, taking in the sun in her own fab metallic swimsuit while Stacey looks on in her matching 'Intrigue' outfit, (ALWAYS wanted to put these two outfits together! Dean Reen also thought they would look great together and wasn't he right?) Even the skirt and Casey's shorts have silvered exactly the same amount, so in a really odd way they actually DO totally match!

This Casey was quite a surprise as I didn't pay a fortune for her and thought I was getting a TLC case. All it took was a light cleaning and some magic erasers and she was good as new! Just got a TON of Mod fashions for her and Francie so stay tuned...

My niece caught in a natural smile moment

sometime after this photo was taken, the hut burnt to the ground. Currently there is nothing there but some charcoal and a toilet. (2017)

Reliving some old memories this morning with the kids. My oldest turns 20 today. Many fun adventures to Disneyland and Disneyworld with the family. Why didn't WDW add these kind of rides to the updated Fantasyland? This picture was taken with a Sony cybershot point and shoot camera.

Spare head on a loaner body for these photos. I'll be finding new homes for a neighbor's childhood doll collection. Any ID help will be appreciated. Sorry I've been M.I.A. since I started a new J.O.B.

Yep, another cat photo. But when the cat's this cute, who cares?

A couple of weeks ago I applied to adopt a male lab puppy from a rescue group. I changed my mind at the last minute, feeling it was too soon after Venus passed away. Last week I received an e-mail from the woman at the rescue telling me about Casey - she felt we were a good match for each other. I always feel like the right animal finds me when the time is right & the e-mail about Casey convinced me I should go meet her. Well, I went to meet her & she's a real sweetheart. I'm planning on adopting her next Monday (Feb 4) when I can take a few days off. Isn't she adorable? Taken January 27, 2008.

John Luther "Casey" Jones was an American railroad engineer from Jackson, Tennessee who worked for the Illinois Central Railroad (IC). In 1900 he alone was killed when his passenger train collided with a stopped freight train at Vaughan, Mississippi, on a foggy and rainy night. His heroic death trying to stop his train and save lives made him a railroad icon who became immortalized in a popular ballad sung by his friend Wallace Saunders, an African American engine wiper for the IC. He is the world's most famous railroad engineer.

Cool, although a bit surprising, that famed railroad engineer Casey Jones has a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail. The Casey Jones Museum in Jackson TN is well worth a visit if anyone ever finds themselves in that area of the country.

I met Casey walking down Newport Ave. I liked the headband and the long hair and thought he would make a great portrait. When I asked him for his photo he happily accepted. He said he did it all the time. It was quite dark so I asked him to move over under some fluorescent lights on a store front. He was a very nice guy and talked freely. I asked how long he had been in Ocean Beach and he said, not long. He had been traveling, he had been in Las Vegas and Phoenix recently. I mentioned that O.B. had much better weather in the winter, much warmer at night. He seemed a little puzzled at my comment but agreed that the weather is great. I assumed he does his fair share of sleeping outside, but I didn't mention that. His backpack was big and he was dressed overly warmly for the temp at the time.

He mentioned that he had been running a big construction crew on the Big Island but had gotten hurt, so he wasn't doing that kind of work anymore.

Casey is #15 of my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 strangers flickr group.

Casey asked me to do a quick shoot for his marketing. We had a great time just doing an off the cuff shoot. Thanks, Ryan for giving me a hand.

Casey Junior is a young steam locomotive from Disney's classic Dumbo (Ben Sharpsteen, 1941). His name is a direct reference to Casey Jones, the famous railroad engineer who had lost his life in a train collision in 1900.

Casey is a 2-4-0 American steam tender locomotive hauling the WDP Circus train, and he even has his own theme song. He appears frequently throughout the film and is shown to be somewhat sapient. For example, when the Ringmaster calls, "All aboard! All aboard!", his whistle can be heard calling, "All aboard! Let's go!" As is the case with most of Disney's early cartoon vehicles, Casey has the ability to move more fluidly than real-life locomotives, and his boiler is often seen bending and twisting like rubber when in motion. In addition, he can twist and flex his metal body to express motion. He uses his steam cylinders like limbs, giving him the ability to shrug, point, and make other gestures. While the sound of the voice resembles that of one processed through a vocoder, it was actually done with a more primitive device, a Sonovox, which uses one or two small loudspeakers in contact with the throat, which allowed Wright to 'speak' by modulating an artificially produced sound with her mouth.

Throughout Dumbo (1941), the circus workers get various animals ready on Casey's coaches, including Mrs. Jumbo. After all the animals successfully board the coaches, the Ringmaster then shouts "All aboard" so that Casey can get ready to travel to the spot where the circus will perform. Casey travels very far from the Winter Headquarters. Mr. Stork meanwhile arrives late and flies towards Casey Junior where Mrs. Jumbo is at as he delivers her a newborn baby elephant named 'Jumbo Junior' by his mother, whom the elephants call him 'Dumbo'. Casey stops at the spot where the circus will be built at to which the next day, the workers have finished setting up the circus tent. Later after the act where Dumbo is to reach the top of the elephants unsuccessful due to the tent collapsing, Casey travels sadly throughout a rainy night as the elephants exclude Dumbo from their act, and Dumbo is put into the clown act. At the end of the film where Dumbo becomes a circus star, a happy Casey is seen wearing a wreath of flowers around him, smiling in joy. Dumbo happily reunites with his mother and as Casey happily travels to the next destination, the crows bid a farewell to Dumbo, wishing him good luck.

I actually forgot I had this Casey, a blonde, no green ear or fading. I acquired her a few years ago and she was packed separately from my other Francies. I recently upgraded her body. I bought her the Sears Casey Goes Casual dress, mismatched cut-out shoes and some Pazam pieces to give her a fun, mod look.

Got more Francie clothes recently! Casey is wearing 'Striped Types' from 1970 ( one of my faves!) featuring groovy pleather red flap pockets and cropped flares. Francie has got on 'Pony Coat ' also from 1970 and featuring pleather pockets and that groovy belt... Since the lining of this FAB coat is a grassy green, I left on her chartreuse hose from 'Merry-Go-Rounders' and added Barbie's white lace-up boots as I thought they go better with this. She's holding another fave of mine:- 'Floating in' from 1968... I had to repair the neckline but otherwise it's perfect! Can't wait to put that on Francie!

Flint Michigan

October 2008

I had just met one of the coolest woman in my life prior to taking this photo. I drove her past her ex-man's house and she said she'd buy me a drink. That drink turned into a pitcher to myself because she didn't want to drink. "I have a two hour drive ahead of me."

Well, after her departure, I went walking downtown because I still had two PB&Js for Mike and Moreese (see further in photo stream) if I had saw them. Walking down Saginaw I had saw a door open of this building that I actually at one time thought people worked in there. The door was open so I figured I'd be good if the cops came "Hey, the door was wide open."

It turns out to be a bank; I saw the open vault. Let me tell you, you see these things in movies and they really are as big and heavy as them seem. Atleast a foot thick and a good weight as well.

Before I went in I was texting Taylor and while I was inside she texted me; I called her right away.

"Hey, I'm in this building and you need to come down right now. I need to get a photo in this place. There's a vault and shit!"

She said her and friend Casey were waiting for some goods then they'd head my way from the UofM dorms. They finally show up and are sketched out a little about going in, but hey, I had already been up three floors so I reassured them that it was all good.

Both Taylor and Casey were more than pumped. We explore a few levels and then decide to just go to the top, you know, see how high we can get before the sun goes down and we're in the pitch black.

Before we know it, I see light. We're on the roof! Now, from blocks away, people say this is a house on top of this building and it honestly looks like it. There are windows and a chimney. Let me reassure you, this is not a house. Anyway, we're all pumped to be on top of this building. We're closer to the CB (Citizens Bank) Weather Ball than most will ever be. If we had rocks would could hit the light from where we were.

As the sun was setting I knew I had to get a photo or two. This is the result. It's just a shame the doors have been locked up for weeks now.

Talk about a great day off. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and people made other people's day. What more could you ask for?
