Lots of promising buds.
I was given them by a company who wanted photographs, and they now keep flowering and re-flowering!
Orchids are truly flowers of superlatives.
No plant family has as many different flowers as the orchid family.
Orchids are among the most highly prized of ornamental plants.
In Mexico the flowers are used symbolically by the natives; each one conveys a sentiment associated with different ceremonies or religious figures.
From the time that orchids were first imported from the Bahamas to Britain (in the early 18th cent.) these flowers have been cultivated for their commercial value and have been successfully hybridised and variegated.
Hawaii has become a major centre for commercial orchid culture.
A species of the Vanilla genus of tropical America is important economically as the source of natural vanilla flavouring.

Did you know that red foxes, including the Cascade red fox of Washington State, have 3 main color.phases: red, silver/black and cross? The Red phase can be almost any orange to a few that are actually red; silver black, as you might imagine, ranges from a mixture of black with white tips, possibly some brown to the rare solid black; cross is a mix of red and black with a dark stripe running down the back, and another stripe over the shoulder creating a cross shape.
I’m posting this a day early since I’ll be out with friends most of the day tomorrow.

Without Iain, I was not expecting to be photographing waterfalls! However, I spotted this pretty little cascade on the Allt Druin Nan Torr driving back towards Inchnadamph and couldn't resist.

The beauty of Horseshoe Falls goes beyond its visual appeal; the area also holds a sense of timelessness and wonder. As you walk along the shaded paths leading to the falls, you can sense the deep connection between the land and its history, with Native American legends adding to its mystique. The fresh scent of pine in the air makes this a truly immersive experience in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where nature’s beauty is at its most serene and inviting.
Taken at Yosemite National Park, I believe this is the Cascades, it was near the Western Entrance to the Park. Thanks for dropping by and remember HE is Risen!!!! Our Saviour is alive!!!
The North Cascades Highway offers fantastic scenery. The drive starts traveling through farm lands and small towns. To the south side of the road, the view of the Skagit River and its greenish color surely grabbed our attention.
The interesting and intense green color of the water is formed by something called rock flour that is formed by the glaciers in the nearby high country grinding rock against rock. The grinding produces a fine silt that reacts with light to reflect this beautiful color.

The So Duc Falls Nature Trail crosses this cascading small stream on its way up to Sol Duc Falls in Olympic National Park, Washington. This photo taken from the bridge that crosses the creek on a rainy, early April evening.
The Cascade (Կասկադ in Armenian) is a complex of massive stone terraces and stairs with fountains located in Yerevan. The stone used for building the complex was white travertine. The Cascade consists of 5 hillside terraces connected with 572 steps. The entire complex is an open-air museum of modern art lying amid the green space.
