before being converted to freighter and sold to CargoJet in 2002
N&W C-424 3903 (3372-04 3/64) ex WAB B903 built as NdeM 8103@Indianapolis IN 7-67 As Wabash units, the C-424's were restricted to B-unit status since they had been purchased from Alco from a canceled NdeM order with minimal adaptation and had cab gauges calculated in the metric system and lettered in Spanish (they also lacked toilets). By the time of this photo this had been corrected by N&W.

In 1994 the JASDF celebrated its 40th anniversary. Every squadron had at least one decorated aircraft. We didn't know where to find the best photo spot, so only took photos from the civil terminal. 75-1077
I created this owl pillow for a friends daughter it is personalized with her initial 'C' created out of the branch. The branch is hand printed and the owl and leafs are appliqued in felt.

Canada began permitting the use of postcards in December 1903.
The coat of arms of British Columbia was unofficial. Originally a provincial initiative conceived in 1895, an attempt was made in 1897 to register it with the English College of Arms. This failed on three points: a) The granting of the royal crest was the exclusively the right of the sovereign; b) the Union Flag had an inferior position on the shield; c) the use of supporters (the wapiti stag and bighorn sheep ram) were presumptuous since their usage was of a high honour and no other province had them.
Only the shield, with the Union Flag at the top with an antique crown added to its center, and the motto "Splendor Sine Occasu" became recognized in 1906. The earlier design continued in use until 1911.
The achievement of arms, augmented with a crest, supporters, and compartment, was granted by Queen Elizabeth II in October 1987.
The flag version of the BC provincial shield was unveiled on June 15, 1960.

The first C-119 made its initial flight in November 1947, and by the time production ceased in 1955, more than 1,100 C-119s had been built. Its cargo-hauling ability and unusual appearance earned it the nickname "Flying Boxcar".

In summer 2016 Lancaster FM213 (also known as VeRA, KB726, or the Mynarski Memorial Lancaster) has been painted and will be flown in the temporary markings of Lady Orchid, Lancaster KB895, WL-O.
The temporary markings are only applied to the port side of the aircraft as the usual VR-A, KB726 markings will remain on the starboard side.
THE CONNECTION BETWEEN OUR LANCASTER & LADY ORCHID -
With only 10.5 hours of flying on the airframe, our Lancaster FM213 was heavily damaged when the undercarriage collapsed at Trenton, Ontario during a 1952 ferry flight. The centre section was badly damaged and the aircraft was almost considered unsalvageable.
A replacement centre section was located in Penhold, Alberta, from Lancaster KB895, a wartime veteran of 434 RCAF Squadron with 35 operations and known as Lady Orchid. After repairs were completed, Lancaster FM213 could be considered a hybrid of sorts - part FM213 and part KB895.
I thought I would document what the Interferon looks like from the outside...because you can't see the blinding headache.
