Looking down the long hood of a C-628 must have been like looking down the boiler of a steam engine. (I don't think I ever saw a CNW C-628 running long end first, although I did on Monon which purchased the model with dual controls)

While I am not normally a fan of black and white paint jobs (sorry PC or N&W fans), C&EI was an exception. Those safety stripes sure were attention-getting and the engine numbers could be read by the most myopic railfan-or towerman.

This is the Rocker C (C for Chrome) which we also saw at Charlotte Harley Davidson on March 1. Have been trying to see this motorcycle for a long time, its basically a Harley "factory chopper". It also fit my 6'2" frame better than most Harley's out there.

VRC-30 Providers perform COD (Carrier On-board Delivery) duties to US Navy carriers at sea. They bring personnel, spare parts and equipment and most importantly, mail from land bases.

This particular aircraft has been fitted with Hamilton Sundstrand's NP2000 propeller as part of the SLEP program for all of the Navy's C-2 aircraft. The NP2000 increases power, while simultaenously reducing noise, vibration and maintenance costs. It is also being fitted on C-130 and E-2C Hawkeye aircraft.

The Ko'olau mountains make a nice backdrop.
