made a bunch of buttons -- doodled on paper, scanned them, did the layout on photoshop, then sent them off to my buttonmaker. =) happy happy buttons.
Six black buttons for suspenders or bracers on ivory surface. Opened package with suspenders partially in field of view. Light effect. High point of view.
I used to put all my buttons with the same colour together in boxes and jars, which worked great until recently (too many buttons, too many different boxes and jars, very unorganized). My mother gave me these plastic containers for my birthday, they have different compartments, which i have to say, is very handy... I didn't like them at first (i loved all my vintage boxes and jars) but now all my buttons are starting to get so lovely organized, i really like them, even though they are not really meant for storing buttons...

Buttons buttons buttons. I love this hand-made button stall, I bought stuff from them last time too. They're from a home company named "Billy Moon Buttons" based out of Macclesfield in SA.
See the ones in the middle in the front with the big yellow centres? I bought them this time around ^_^
My swap-bot partner in this case really liked buttons. So I added this piece as an extra. It's just 15 cheap little buttons, but to draw it back to the embroidery theme, I added a sheep in the corner.

I was inspired by all the artists who make flower bouquets out of their vintage buttons. I made flowers and put them in a painted clay pot.
I could not bring myself to use my vintage buttons. My sister, Kate, bought me these really neat flower shaped buttons to layer.
I have no idea why I am saving all my vintage buttons. I have so many. I don’t sew so they will never grace a design or creation of mine. They are not displayed. I have no room to display all of them. They are separated by kind and then color. HO-HUM!
But, you know, I feel, they hold in them the energy of my great great Grandmother, my great Grandmother, my Grandmother, my Mother, my great Aunts, aunts, and sister. They made some of them, chose some, used them, and saved them.
They were passed down to me. Plus, when I see what vintage buttons go for, well, my heart flips.
I have some from the 1800’s and WW2. My great Uncle fought the Nazi wearing these buttons on his shirt and jacket sleeves. How could I let ALL those goes for a lot of $3.00?

Nostalgia weekend in Leicester with my parents.
When I was little my Mum had a tin of buttons that we used to play with. I'm sure that's how I learned to count. I couldn't resist getting the old tin out and rummaging through it!
I like this new note board (button board) a lot.
