A uniform button, the Post Office Department (POD) (a cabinet post) was replaced by the current United States Postal Service (USPS) (fictitiously a private company) in the early 1970's so that congress could keep the rest of the civilian federal employees from getting the same raises and benefits. At about the same time congress pulled themselves out of the mix to ensure they kept their raises, pensions and "gifts" from lobbyists.

Obviously I have no clue what I'm doing. This is nothing new. What you see here is half a chinese frog button. I don't know how to get it to take a shape, so I've grabbed a bobbin lace pillow and pinned it to it. I assume I will force it to do my bidding with strong thread.
No one teaches me how to do these things. It's all a haphazard guess, really. This will work, or there will be consequences.
Today I am the button dominatrix.
