Painted Button-quail Turnix varia 17 – 23 cm
Painted Button-quail move on the spot in a circle as they feed, digging up the leaf litter and sometimes dirt as they go. This circular movement results in 'platelets' which are saucer sized and shaped bare patches of ground. It is a good way to find where they have been foraging. We thought it better not to disturb them just to get images of the platelets.
Really simple to make.
All I used was buttons & waxed thread.
Knotted one end & tied loop at the other!
Simple jewellery for a button lover!
Current Peacock button box not big enough for my current button collection. Bought a beautiful wooden box at local antiques fair and now sorting buttons between the two. 1/365
I've been making these for a few years & recently taught a class how to make them. I use vintage (or vintage looking) salt/pepper shakers or small vintage perfume bottles.
Only vintage buttons are used. Sweet!

So after I put my sewing room back together after messing it up last week I finally put up a shelf for my button jars.
One of my neighbour's cats. She is the sweetest little thing but very very shy so I was stoked that she hung around yesterday long enough for me to snap this =)
this was an attempt to make a quilt like this one: flickr.com/photos/eggmoney/400373863/ , mine doesn't look like hers which really worried me at first, the buttons were an afterthought in place of quilting stitching and I love them, in the end I'm happy with it
Not a very exciting day - mostly spent finding places for the things we've brought back from Olive's house. The buttons were easy, and added to the collection. I wish I could tell stories about many of the buttons, but the only one I really remember is the airplane (which has lost a lot of its colour): there was a pair of them on some dark blue cotton dungarees made for baby Gareth by Karen, one of my old school friends. Both Mum and Olive liked clothes in pinky, reddish, purple hues, so those buttons remind me of them, and there are many shirt buttons which remind me of Dad.
This evening, I'm off to the community cinema to see Swallows and Amazons. Mike has the beginnings of a cold, so isn't coming.
Vintage bridle button that was found along others in an old dairy barn near Weatherford, OK. The front has a beautiful picture of the Mother Mary with a gold radiance. The back shows nice wear from its use and has a horizontal bar for attaching the button. The paint on the front is in remarkable condition. Button is approximately 1 ¾ inches.

Button passed away in November 2012 after suffering an injury to his good wing. He was paired with Davina. Button was a feral pigeon and couldn't fly due to a broken wing.
Media control button that I design for media player. Just finish only button but media player not create yet. I think it's very difficult to create interface design.
Botões de flores, tesouras, corações, joaninhas, morangos, cenouras, envelopes, cogumelo, hello kitty, presentes de Natal... ai, ai... são tantos
In April 1955 30 buttons were attached to this 10 3/4'' x 13'' piece of cardboard that was from a sign in Emmaus, PA as seen on the back of this display. Some of the buttons are missing. There seems no theme to this BUTTON DISPLAY CARD so it may have been a child that was given the cardboard and buttons to keep them busy. There are some celluloid buttons, metal buttons, plastic and glass on this display.
THIS CARD IS FOR DISPLAY ONLY-NOT FOR SALE
