The is the first button quail. I'm unsure whether it's male or female- most of the time the males have that white patch on the throat but in some mutations females do as well. If you've noticed the bare back, according to the breeders they pluck feathers from each other to add to the nest. They will grow back!

This one is a bit braver than the other one, as it didn't try to run.

i got this idea from an item on etsy; a cloth book with a page of flowers to button on. i put some pillow filling on a small blackboard (the slate was defective), and wrapped it in fabric on which i'd already glued the fixed felt pieces and sewed the buttons in place. then i made the tire and sun circles with buttonholes so T can remove and replace. he has the button board from lakeshore learning, but this one is a little easier and i think he'll like the car wheels.

This Noble Girl is button jointed, which means the limbs move. She is stuffed with wool from local (Pennsylvania) sheep and stitched of natural cotton. Her hair is crocheted from 4 different types of mohair yarn; all blonde, curly and straight. She wears a pink knit fabric outfit to allow for movement. She wears pink wool felt boots.

Wooden button and porcelain beads on olive green leather chord

I was looking thru my wife's scrapbooking gear (with permission of course) and I found a whole tin of buttons. Then I had this crazy idea of gluing a dark coloured button to a piece of black card, with a hole in it, then shining a bright light from behind it hoping to get light beams shining thru the button holes.

I set up a couple of incense sticks, to the side, to highlight the light rays. It did not turn out quite the way I wanted it. I was hoping to get 4 individual beams of light streaming through the button holes. Oh well back to the drawing board. White balance set to incandescant
