We added a shelf and ramp to their cage, to make better use of the upper space. At first they were too afraid to go up. This was the first quail that was brave enough to see what was up there. Now they all go up. 4/19/14

This was an idea from the Martha Stewart site. The kids made button wreaths for their grandparents. This was part of our handmade Christmas.
This is Charlie, my normal wild type male Button Quail. These may or may not be "his" eggs, but he sure is being tender with them!
If your little one has a big head, then adding a button opening to the neck of any top is easy - here's a tutorial.
