Sir Richard Layton Butler was Premier of South Australia over two different periods. He was made a Knight Commander of St Michael and St George in 1939.
Amy butler weekender. Modified to add pocket inside in lining as well as pocket in the outside pocket. Also made end pocket have a zipper in the outer part of the pocket.

These two met at Quilt Market and they were enchanted with each other. A few rooms at Blythe House are decorated in Amy Butler fabrics and MSR was quite star struck to be in Amy Butlers company!
