This is a Fine Art photo of the iconic 'Uranium Cafe' sign in Grants, New Mexico. Located on The Mother Road, old Route 66, The Uranium Cafe still stands. A monument to the Atom Age, the design is straight forward with homey bomb shelter feel. The Uranium Cafe opened in 1956. It has gone through a series of owners, all promising to serve the best food ever. Some have not succeeded. For awhile the cafe had reopened and had been renamed "FIVE BROTHERS URANIUM CAFE". It was owned and operated by Rosalinda Stewart with the help of her five sons. Then it sat empty for some time, recently resurrected again and renamed "NANA'S HOME COOKING", but on the other side of the famous sign it still reads "URANIUM CAFE." It appears that this cafe has a life of its own and begs one to ask themselves, "How long is the shelf life of Uranium anyway?"

Are the two long things on the "V" and the "P" supposed to communicate something? Are they eyebrows? Lash extensions?
